Hard to care when the NHL is literally against you.

6 out of 8 series are in the 1-1 tie and only two series are Colorado which should sweep and Carolina which has advantage over that Bruins team.

This series will go back and forth. Don't go too high or don't sink too low based on results. Though meaning of first goal is huge, because 15 out 16 games have gone on the way of the team that scored first.

What I've seen this is best incarnation of Maple Leafs I've ever seen. Starting from 1993. I also like our chances in this, just hope Keefe can do proper adjustments and we can control our emotions. We did it well in first game outside of Clifford, but failed in that department in the 2nd game.

Big whole which this team and organization is is this first round losses streak. This series has way way too much meaning, because of that. It basicly must win for the fans. In normal case without the streak, this would be the year that got the short straw and we could live with that playing against Tampa it means that we can go out straight away even if we play good but just not perfect.

If this organization just could catch some good bounces for once.

Yeah that was one thing about that 93 team, they didn't have talent to burn like the current group but they always came to play. You might beat them but if you did, you damn well knew you had been in a tough fight, you were happy it was over and you weren't anxious to play them again.

If the current group had more of what that 93 team had, they'd be scary as hell!

You're right there were only a small group from the Poll in the other series thread that thought Leafs would sweep, some of which are heavy into analytics, which helps explain that. Too much heart and not enough head likely went into those predictions.. I see you voted Leafs in 6

Only Colorado and Carolina were able to hold on to home ice they earned via their regular season performance and Carolina is doing it with their 3rd string goalie. Lots of parity throughout the NHL in terms of teams being competitive so longer series should be reasonably expected throughout.

Game #3 in a 7 game series is often pivotal in determining the winner of the series for the team that goes up 2-1. This is almost a must win for the Leafs tonight, or there should be some real reason for concern because a loss would require the Leafs to beat the 2 X Cup champs 3 of the next 4 games (with home ice split 2 and 2 each). A win by the Leafs (based in historical data of actual results) would put the Leafs at nearly 71% odds on winning, and grabbing home ice back in the process, and back in the drivers seat.

If we have another thread like this one tomorrow .. Uhhh folks, we’re only down 2-1 against the reigning champs, then there will be more valid reason for concern of Leafs coming back. IMO
