We won’t know until we have a playoff series there.Last year sucked ass for the most part so I'm wondering how the UBZ compares to the Coli for fan noise and overall rowdyism. These games are basically playoff games so a comparison can finally be made.
Makes sense. I'll pay the extra money to sit down lowWe won’t know until we have a playoff series there.
It will never be the Coliseum. There’s a second seating level to this place and that gives it more room for the sound to travel. People I know who’ve sat in the 200 level and then the 100 level say it like watching two different games. Downstairs in the 100s sounds as loud as any building in the league, but the noise gets lost before it gets to the 200s

I don’t think there’s a gate on it like at the Coliseum. My guess is you could get in before the official opening time because there’s always access to the Elmont train station from the lot. When does Emerald actually open up? Going to tailgate and it says it opens two hours before event start, hoping someone else has gone and that they've gone earlier than that.

How is that possible, I thought Nassau County outright banned such tomfoolery and buffooneryThe Emerald lot has two self-service gates so if you prepay you just scan the barcode and enter the lot. Last Friday I was there before 4 and there was able to get into the lot and there were people already tailgating.
No need to write any of those tickets when everyone gets a speed camera ticket on the way inHow is that possible, I thought Nassau County outright banned such tomfoolery and buffoonery

In retrospect I’ll bet the Lighthouse looks pretty good compared to what Garden City is about to get.
I'll bet (pun intended) they'd like a do-over on that referendum right about now.In retrospect I’ll bet the Lighthouse looks pretty good compared to what Garden City is about to get.
The passage of the bills will allow NYRA to tear down Belmont Park and replace it with a smaller, year-round facility approximately one-fifth the size of the current grandstand. Under the bills, once the construction is “substantially complete,” NYRA will give up its lease to Aqueduct racetrack, and downstate racing will be consolidated at Belmont. The state owns the deeds to both tracks.
Renovating to build a new grandstand 1/5 the size of the current one didn't quite compute when I first read that, but I guess except for 1 day a year it makes sense. And now there will be space to build a Costco. This article will bring more clarity for those who are wondering what the scope of the Belmont Race Track renovations will include.
Belmont renovation loan of $455M passed by New York legislature
The New York Racing Association will receive a loan of $455 million to rebuild Belmont Park under bills that were passed by the state legislature late on Monday afternoon following negotiations between legislative leaders and Gov. Kathy Hochul.www.drf.com
Is there an update to any of the stuff that was supposed to be built with the arena? Believe it was a hotel, shopping center and something else. This article will bring more clarity for those who are wondering what the scope of the Belmont Race Track renovations will include.

That 1 day a year, Belmont Stakes Day, will gain the lost capacity with temporary seating structures on the Clubhouse turn and maybe in the area along the home stretch. The infield is also being opened up for the first time ever to allow people to watch the races, like at Churchill Downs and Pimlico.Renovating to build a new grandstand 1/5 the size of the current one didn't quite compute when I first read that, but I guess except for 1 day a year it makes sense. Not yet, but that has to do with the NY Arena Partners plans. The race track reno is NYRA’s project running simultaneously to the NYAP project. Is there an update to any of the stuff that was supposed to be built with the arena? Believe it was a hotel, shopping center and something else.
That’s where they’re going to put the incubator. Duh!Renovating to build a new grandstand 1/5 the size of the current one didn't quite compute when I first read that, but I guess except for 1 day a year it makes sense. And now there will be space to build a Costco.
Used to go to the Stakes every year from 2010-18, oh man what I would've done to be inside the infield back then. That 1 day a year, Belmont Stakes Day, will gain the lost capacity with temporary seating structures on the Clubhouse turn and maybe in the area along the home stretch. Kellenberg High school, Hofstra, and nassau community college surround the area. How is it possible the local government ignores that and puts this monstrosity up?OT, but the Casino keeps moving forward:
