WJC: U20 WJC Semifinal game thread Sweden vs Finland

For any Swedish fans here, I have to ask... how in the unholy name of f*** does this coach keep getting the job with the national team? Dude makes Dave Cameron look like Scotty Bowman. lmao

Deserved win for Finland there. Sweden in elimination games at the WJC is maybe the strangest thing in international hockey. The lack of urgency and push when they need a goal or goals is baffling.

Stakestaad as one of the team’s top 3 players is a glaring indictment of how bad Sweden’s offence actually was.

Don't worry Canadians you will get your part of this torture tomorrow. Canada struggled against Czechs lmao

When did Canada struggle against the Czechs? Certainly at no point in this tournament did that happen.

Explaining the entire 6v5 would be easy.

Grans and Andrea shot the puck, Rosen tried once but was stick checked in a brief shift he had and the rest of Sweden passed the puck until the game ended.

Rosen led the team in PP goals, isn’t played to start a 5v3?

Finland knows how to play D for sure but this was a cakewalk for the Finns

That was an entertaining game. Good pace and sufficient nastiness.
Both the goaltenders were really solid.

Not a strong Swedish team by any means, but they certainly lived up to the baffling trend.

Andrae was so bad today. Anytime the puck was on his stick was a waste.
Are you kidding me? He was the only one on the Swedish team with a pulse. The rest were passengers, except for Wallstedt, i guess. Andrae might've been trying to do too much, but at least he was trying. The others were about as unimaginative and vanilla as it gets.

How in the hell do the dmen not pinch in the final 3 minutes of the game on a rim around? What are they waiting for?

I wasn't shocked that Finland won, but it could easily have been 5-0. Wallstedt was vg, and had a lot of help from the iron. Sweden, OTOH, had almost no chances to speak off. Their "0" score flattered them.
