So regardless of what happens in the games later, is it officially Can vs Lat in the QF?

Will the USA-Finland game be delayed because of the delay in Slovaka-Norway? What's the necessary turnaround time? 45 mins?

2005 and 2013 are the only two times that Canada and USA have played in the gold medal game in this tournament (1-1 against each other). It would be great if it can happen again this year, but first step is that USA would have to beat Finland today so they don't end up on the same side of the bracket.

Looking forward to the US/Fin game

But how could US/Can be on the same side? Wouldn't it be A1 vs B4?

So Norway is losing 1-11 to a team that we roundly beat, yet we were trailing 1-5 against Norway.

I guess that's U18 hockey for you

Slovakia beating Norway by more than USA did

Looking forward to the US/Fin game

If USA loses to Finland, they finish 2nd in group, Canada is first in other group. So they would be on course to meet in the Semifinals.

Why doesn't Sweden pull the goalie? They need a regulation win. Actually nevermind, they'd fall behind Switzerland and be vulnerable to finishing in the relegation game (if Canada threw the match with Kazakhstan) if they had regulation lost.

Sweden-Switzerland headed to Overtime. That means Czechia finishes 2nd. Announcer said Sweden plays USA-Finland, I think Sweden finishes in 4th and Switzerland 3rd if Switzerland wins in OT? Both teams would have 5 points and Switzerland the tiebreaker. So the OT/Shootout determines who is 3rd and who is 4th. Kazakhstan guaranteed to go to relegation game.

Sweden and USA are much weaker this year than the last two. Canada has to be a big favorite. Maybe Finland at home.

Sweden wins, so that group is set.

1) Canada
2) Czechia
3) Sweden
4) Switzerland
5) Kazakhstan

Czechia and Slovakia will meet in one quarterfinal. Canada and Latvia will meet in one quarterfinal. Then Switzerland will play the winner of USA/Finland and Sweden will play the loser. Norway and Kazakhstan will play for relegation.
