Great game, missed half the second and half the third but amazing comeback by Canada. Such an accomplishment when someone beats the USA at this tournament as they play together all year. Though very smart of Canada to take 14 players from the Hlinka to this tournament (given availability). Mckenna mirroring his cousin Bedard by winning a U18 two years out from his draft year (and yes I know Bedard was actually a year younger, just draft year elgibility).

The americans were robbed by the ref. Canada getting all the favors as usual.

USA is cleary the best team in the tournament.
Better to be the winning team than the best team when the two don't align. Thanks refs and IIHF rule book.

Better to be the winning team, then the whining team. ;)
Very true.

You gotta let people vent their feelings in the moments after the game, that’s part of what makes it fun.

I’ve had some anger venting after some of our loses!

I'm pretty sure that random isn't even American.

Isn't that a 5 minute penalty in every league.

I was mainly being sarcastic. It's a very obvious five minute penalty in IIHF hockey, and those are the rules under which the game was played.

The US has great players. We'll see that in a few years after they're drafted.

Let's not forget that they also have a tremendous advantage in this tournament in that they are an actual team.

I know Canada would never be able to do that, but I really would like to see other countries develop a system like US.
Are you forgetting all the Canadian CHL players not available due to their post season still being played?

Great comeback by an impressive team. MacDougall’s accomplishments this year are off the charts. Hopefully he’ll coach at the world juniors soon.
Credit to MacDougall for riding McKenna hard in the third period. Contrary to Alan Létang at the World Juniors, who was playing Celebrini only 14 mins in the QF, MacDougall rode his best players to victory by double shifting them in the third

WOW, what an UGLY thread. From the venom thrown Canada's way EARLY, especially from Canadian posters, to the international nastiness when we came back and won.

Now THAT is some OLD TIME HOCKEY HF POSTING !

Imagine training together for two years just to lose to a 16 year old and his ragtag band (missing Celebrini, Lindstrom, Parekh, Catton, Dickinson, Yakemchuk, Basha, Sennecke, Hage, Boisvert, etc).

Hagens: zero points in the spotlight

McKenna: hat trick and an assist
You are truly one of the best posters, D - being sincere. No B.S. with you. Amen, brother.

This third period comeback was absolutely necessary after the misery of G7 last night!

I don't understand your point?

Of course we're missing a lot of talent. What does that have to do with the US having an actual team.

What a hell Connelly was thinking when he took that 5+20 penalty.
What a bonehead move to do that in world championships gold medal game.

Thanks a lot you f***ing idiot ( Connelly ) yeah i was hoping USA's win.
But how ever thanks to both teams for exciting and entertaining game.
