Player Discussion Tyler Seguin

I think he's a better PP away from getting to that point. If the PP becomes even a bit more productive, his day to day points production will pick up.

How is Seguin defensively? Just contemplating a Canadian team to the 2018 olympics should NHL players attend. Also, has he or Benn played more C on the top line this year?

Very good on the backcheck. Way better than I imagined. Benn is better on in zone defense in the sense he is bigger and stronger, but Tyler has better positioning on defense IMO. Seguin probably takes 60% of faceoffs but plays 100% of the C position.

Do you guys use him on the PK? Also, I think Benn is used on the PK. How is he at it?

He is not used on the PK, while Benn currently is. Benn had not been used on the PK for the majority of the season (he had in previous seasons). Again this lends itself more to the idea that Benn is better in setup zone time for the opposing offense while Seguin is better on the backcheck coming into the zone.

Gotcha. Thanks for the info. Benn was used on the PK in Sochi and he looked real good. I'm excited to see Seguin suit up in red and white in the near future. :yo:

I tend to agree for the most part. Benn would also benefit from a more productive PP. I think that will come down mostly to what kind of offensive defensemen we can run out there in the next few years.

Still, he's not exactly doing poorly picking up PP points this season. Currently sitting 12th among forwards in PP points, 20th overall.

With the assist on the OT GWG, Seguin tied his career high points. The stat line is identical 29+38=67, but it took 18 games less. And he is ours, our ******* drunk inconsistent SUPERSTAR!!!

Whatever dudes. You just don't understand the system that Boston plays, and you never will no matter how hard you try. Speed, talent, vision, creativity and hockey sense go against the system, so obviously Seguin would have never had any success here. Let me try and explain to you how guys like Brad Marchand and Milan Lucic are actually better players than Seguin is.

But if you take away Seguin's best 18 games, he's nowhere near his point totals.

The guy just turned 22 yrs old-he is on verge of being a superstar who gaves a crap about his private life. The guy is the real deal and Bruins blew it and what was worse was Bruins Management outed him in public

Segs thought whomever it was that he broke his leg before realizing it was Pevs.

Talking about flight to STL atm. Didn't realize Chiasson was at hospital until they got in the air.

Testament to how shell shocked they were that they didn't even realize another teammate was missing.
