I'm guessing that one of Hall or Foligno is def out until the playoffs, this happened pretty fast and with no smoke. And I have to admit that Sweeney is batting close to 1.000 since the Hampus signing (the trade itself still bothers me with the included 2nds for unused cap relief).

It's been an amazing season and I hope everyone is enjoying the year as much as possible regardless of what happens because we may never see a team this good again.

I generally hate trading these 1st rounders - even if they are late - but the TB article in the Athletic after the Jeannot trade has some interesting info on the actual value of a late pick against a known asset:

Also, if getting Bertuzzi gives Pasta more information on what this team looks like for seasons 2024-2026 then I think its absolutely worth the '24 1st round pick. Detroit maybe thinks it'll be closer to #20 than #30 by then.

Either Hall or Foligno have to be gone to LTIR . No other way to get close to 4.75 million. Reilly is 1.85, even if you got rid of Zboril and Wags, that still only gets you to 2.4 mil or so.

Wonder if there is a retain that we haven't heard about yet. As we know sometimes these deals evolve a bit as more information comes out

Hopefully he can find his scoring touch again, sadly with no cap moving out this likely means LTIR for Hall/Foligno (hopefully not both).
