Love this deal! Mention Bertuzzi a month ago on how he would be a great add. Props to Sweeney he's been magical, astute with his managerial skills this deadline, hell going all the way back to last years deadline. I've been bashing him for a while now, my bad the guy doing everything within his power to bring another championship to Boston and he has quickly become one of the best GM's in the game today!!

Just saw this on reddit lol

Love it !!!
"But he's going to a team (Bruins) where they're loading up for war. And there's no one I'd rather have on my team than Tyler Bertuzzi in that situation."
Awesome indeed! Past comments from Caps players echo that sentiment along similar lines when talking about both Orlov and Hathaway. DS has brought in warriors perfect for the playoffs.

Bertuzzi is such an incredible addition to this team. I don't think he's ever been in a playoff game. Dude will be amped.

Love the new Avatar :thumbu:

Bruins now at: 49/50 contracts. Room for one more. So in theory, a potential playoff lineup could look this?

Marchand — Bergeron — DeBrusk
Zacha — Krejci — Pastrnak
Hall — Coyle — Bertuzzi
Foligno — Frederic/Nosek — Hathaway
Nosek/Frederic
Lauko

Orlov — McAvoy
Lindholm — Carlo
Grzelcyk — Clifton
Forbort
Reilly

This is a top Cup contending lineup with good depth options in case of injury. Do you want Reilly in there? No. However, if it got that deep, which it can, I’d take him over a Tommy Cross situation. Forbort is a legit Top 6 D in the NHL that becomes a solid #7. He can rotate in for injury but also poor play / need a different look.

Great Job on the Avatar Pic change!

With the lineup that’s been put together, I think Reilly is excellent depth.

I’d rather it not come to it (I think the guy looks like an AHL player 9 games out of 10), but he’s not the worst option if push comes to shove. At the very least, he has some discernible skill offensively and could be managed to hopefully not be overly exposed to bad matchups.

Over the past two seasons, penalty differential per 60 mins:
  1. Tyler Bertuzzi = +0.53
  2. Jake DeBrusk = +0.51
  3. David Pastrnak = +0.50
  4. Garnet Hathaway = +0.37

Minor Penalties Drawn per 60
  1. Garnet Hathaway = 1.80
  2. Brad Marchand = 1.57
  3. Tyler Bertuzzi = 1.18
  4. David Pastrnak = 1.12

If the Bruins can get their Powerplay back firing on all cylinders, Bertuzzi and Hathaway could be responsible for a few more PP goals...

At the very least, that's 7+ minutes on average per game where their opponent is less likely to score.
