Post-Game Talk: Two terrible teams plays on Saturday, the more terrible team loses. Habs lose (obviously).

:biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh: One of these guys had 4 gva's the other 1 too bad Nick didn't have as many points as his GVA. Oh and one guy threw the puck down the ice leading to a 5-3 goal the other didn't. I'm glad the 5v5 play was so strong. What a f***ing reach.

I felt as though this would be an easy win for us, held the Oilers to 4 shots in the first, there was no room on the ice for Jesus and John the Baptist and things were looking good. In the second period, all hell broke loose and the refs made some bad decisions and the game was over. I don't blame Suzuki for throwing the puck, that was a statement gesture to the referees, and the boys were pissed. As for Matheson, many of you are roughing him up in the comments but I didn't think he was bad. If he scored on the play where he walked by everyone it would have been a GOY candidate, the man can flat-out fly.

Xhekaj and Guhle were amazing, they don't look like rookies at all, kinda wish that wifi would have nailed McDavid though, the diving punk! This team has some good pieces but the garbage vets are stinking up the joint especially Anderson and Armia, my God, both are horrible.

Those criticizing Matheson’s performance must have overlooked the fact that he played 27 minutes last night, had 5 shots (one less than the total of all of our defencemen) played in all high leverage situations and whose mobility gave the Oilers fits all game.

the best fans are the ones that still have your back when you fuuuuk up.
thats when the teams needs its fans most. Just look at all the haters come out to play.
This team is in a FULL REBUILD. The most important is the KIDS and are they doing well and learning lessons this year so next year will be even better. A blind man can see just who needs to go. Every single team also has players that need to go, and that happens EVER YEAR to EVERYONE.
Are the haters just going to come out every game and BLAST AWAY. Is it just fun to HATE for them?
Just in passing, when is the last time you saw 3 5on3 PP given out IN 1 Period, even if you say they were well deserved, that not the point now is it. its freaking weird I can't remember the last time I ever saw that WOW. I suppose the next thing I will see is all 5 players get their sticks broken at the same time on the same shift it could HAPPEN Right? how about 5 heart attacks at the same time on the same shift. how about 3 five on three in one period. WOW.

Found this interesting stat this morning. Maybe Wifi needs more time on the power play?

No hate, just facts
Facts that don't tell the entire story. Not to mention nobody is hating. The way that word is tossed around here the second anyone is critical of a given player or the teams performance is a joke. It's not like I'm not biased in Nick's favor. You don't agree with my assessment fine. I'm not infallible but don't throw words like hate around for no reason it couldn't be further from the truth.

It's the weirdest thing and I have never understood it. There is a portion of the fanbase that only wants to be a cheerleader but the instant that said player leaves and goes to another organization he becomes fair game to the same posters that loved him when he underperformed here now despise him lol.

I who am critical of certain aspects Matheson's play have not overlooked anything. He opted to shoot more than once when a better option was available. He clearly has the green light to jump but doesn't always choose the right moment. He probably gave Robidas as many fits as he gave the Oilers. Great wheels, awesome mobility but his hockey instincts aren't at that same level. Being a tad more selective will go a long way with this guy.

To me, he's better offensively than defensively anyway. He honestly reminds me, to some extent, of a young Souray before he understood how to take the next step.
And yet I see him taking decent strides in the right direction on the D side. Two things he can improve on are getting full value for his 2 minute penalties and not always getting drawn to the puck. Both won't be easy for his style of play.

Oh he got a bit better in his decision-making, but that, and his positioning, are the 2 areas he must work on, but I'm not worried too much about that if we take a look at how much his game grew just in the last 3 seasons. He doesn't look out of place, but he's fortunate enough to be in a position where our team wasn't asked to compete at all costs this season, so he will have the time needed, and patience from the administration and coaching staff.

At least he has the skills and ability to have the option to be more selective.

A lot to like about this team. We're rebuilding, and I'm starting to think in 3 years we will be contending for the top spot. It's important to remember that this is a rebuilding year. We need a top 10 pick, I repeat NEED.

The 3rd and 4th lines are pretty much useless. We are unfortunately saddled with expensive vets that hurt this team's potential.

They aren't lazy, they are just completely useless.
You are right, I said last night at the game,
The 4 the brings nothing, no hitting, no fore check, zip

Come on guys…..McDavid is fun to watch.
Wow he’s so fast everyone around him looks slow even guys we know are fast, lol,
It’s been so long since I could watch this team, win or lose, and not be embarrassed by their effort. 8 + minutes short handed, 5 min major, 3 5 on 3, come on, Vs McDavid & Draisaitl ?

Has anyone spotted how Guhle is carrying his D partner more and more? Not unlike what Markov did his whole career, amazing. This kids ceiling are changing with each game. To a lesser degree Arbor is trending the same direction & the only similarity they share is big physical D.

Sucks to lose (except this year) lots of positive’s
