Also, nice hat trick from TT and great performance from KK. Total team domination today against one of the best teams in the league.

Ghost is the first guy they've had in a while who is an elite shooter AND passer on the PP. Glad to see it's paying immediate dividends, hope it doesn't fizzle out come playoff time
He's maybe slightly better than Burns at passing on the PP. And most likely a better shooter at this point in his career. But he's definitely going to "fizzle" out somewhat meaning he won't continue to shoot 40% as a Cane or anywhere close to it.

Don't get me wrong, he's a definite boost for the powerplay but people should probably temper their expectations a bit especially in the playoffs where Ghost has only 5 points in 17 games in his career.

We're seeing how dominant one of the best defensive, and 5v5 teams can be with a good power play. I hope they can carry that into the post season.

Have to admit, I kind of overlooked what a key addition a QB type defenseman was. Ghost just doesn’t spring to mind as a guy I would want on my team, to be brutally honest, but he fills a niche here that might really change the entire calculus for how teams play against us.

Of course as @Canes just said, he will come back down to earth. But there’s a massive difference between him and Pesce or whatever running a PP unit.

What a game you guys had today. The Bolts are playing like a team that has played so much hockey over the past 3 years that they are spent. The Canes are playing hungry and full of drive. I saw the same thing after my Bolts got swept by the CBJ's. We all know what happened after that. I am a Lightning and Kraken fan first. I am now living in Alaska since 2010. I just hope that neither the Rags or Boons win the cup.

He’s also only a few years removed from being a flat out top pairing dman for Philly and found his game again in Arizona (it’s just that no one cared). He’s not a 6D. He’s a 2 or 3D who happens to be on our bottom pair. And being on that bottom pair allows him to play fully to his strengths without being super weighed down by his weaknesses. Not only that, but this system will do nothing but help.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he quickly becomes a fan favorite and we’re making some tough decisions in the offseason regarding re-signing him.

I mean I kind of doubt we would acquire a high-scoring defenseman who rediscovers his game here, and just let him walk away.
