Nah...Melynk is dead. What happened in those years mean nothing now.

I'm not suggesting we avoid booing to be cotton soft on the players. Frankly, I don't care about the players' feelings.

I'm suggesting a bit of apathy and taking a break to save the fans' mental health more than anything. Because no matter what we do as fans, this team is not going to improve for awhile. They have way too much to learn and it's a class of paste eaters. Save yourself the aggravation.

Ah, yes. I agree. I don't pay attention nearly as much as I used to during games. Now I multi task. Saves me the frustration.

I can't believe how smart you think you are.

I was talking to another poster about coping. For you I couldn't care less. Your Brady Tkachuk obsession is unhealthy

I don't think I'm that smart at all.

It's not my obsession it's people's like you who will shit on the team but worship the ground Brady walks on despite him contributing to the shit mentality of this team, not to mention attack anyone who calls out Brady.

Jason York agrees with you.

He said Brady's been so used to being told how good he will be and it's just a matter of time before they start winning..

Well, now he's finally being told you're not going to be good in this league without learning how to play properly first.. and that's the huge wake up call Brady needs.

The answers are there somewhere for Staois. The team is easy to play against and relatively slow. He'll have to address that with a couple of 2 way forwards who can impact the game.

Chucky is tough, but does anyone else in the top 6 classify as hard to play against other than Giroux because he's Alfie like?

Alright, I’m over another tough loss.

Still some positives from last night.

Bottom two lines had some jump. That was nice to see. I noticed the fourth line more than usual.

I really like Greig-Tarasenko. I’d be curious to see how they look with Pinto slotted in at C and Greig moving to LW.

Kubalik still needs to go, but he had a decent response to being shredded by JM on the bench.

Team played decent through most of the game. It was nice to get Joseph back on the PK in particular. He’ll need to get back into it but I was glad to see him.

PP showed signs of life. Still need more.

Can we reunite Tkachuk-Stutzle-Giroux?

It’s not going well for the two kids right now and I’d like to try everything to spark them.

Agreed for anyone who's lost sight of this being entertainment for themselves. No one's shooting at them, these aren't life or death decisions that should impact any fans mental health

I think we are past line tweaks at this point...

I don’t know what about my post made you think I thought line tweaks were a solution to everything.

Clearly they’re not, but you also have to try something until a trade is made. You can’t just throw up your hands and cry. Like Jacques said, you have to keep going, be a man and figure out how to fix it.

Just play out the year, trade all of our spare and expiring parts, and trade away ~2 of the core pieces prior to the draft.

Team needs a complete reset, and they have very few future assets to make that happen.
Have to find a way to get rid of Chabot without retention or giving up assets, or taking a bad contract.

We need to change the mix, hate to say it but a 2021 Connor Brown, and Nick Paul would help a lot more than Tarasenko and Kubalik, and a hypothetical RH version of 2017 Methot would help a lot more than Chychrun, but I wouldn't call those swaps upgrades (except I suppose Paul in for Kubalik)

With Stü, Norris, Pinto and Greig, I could see us shopping a center along with a LHD to get that physical RHD and two way top 9 guys

We have a lot of good pieces, there should be no denying that, we just don't have the right mix.

In the end, it ain’t coaching or youth or the wrong system or the immaturity. This team is simply not very good.
The western road trips just expose how small, slow (and that includes skill at moving the puck efficiently) and lacking in collective team IQ these guys are.
Don’t envy those in charge of the “retool”.

Chychryun needs to sign a new contract first. Can't move one LD then have the other bolt.
I dont care if Chychurn leaves or stays. Has no impact on my opinion on what they need to do with Chabot. Never win with him logging important minutes at that contract. He's at best a 4 million dollar d man. He's like Ghostesbehere without the shot and a slightly better skater.

Then our blueline instantly becomes bottom 5 in the league. And any hope of making the playoffs would be gone for the foreseeable future.
Do we have any playoffs hopes in the short term?

I am done expecting anything good out of this core.

The rebuild is back on, this roster needs a serious overhaul. Make changes with the goal to stop sucking, we can worry about playoffs after.

Not saying we should trade Chabot and Chychrun now but almost nothing should be off the table.

That's exactly what the need is. Players who can play a complete game and are willing to play a complete game on both sides of the puck. The issues plaguing this team are having too many players that want to cheat the game and not willing to defend or make the plays necessary to keep the puck out of the net. It's been that way for a long time. I'm hoping some of the young players are willing to change but the bad habits might be engrained so deep at this point that we have to move some of them. The sad part is it's the skilled players and the core players that seem to be struggling the most with changing the way they play.

It all goes hand in hand. If you play the right way on defense it opens up the game offensively for you and you can take more chances and use your skill to score more goals. But what you're seeing is players make the same mistakes over and over. If there's no play, there's no play. Don't force it and routintely that's what they are doing. Other teams are also exposing the fact that there are players on this team that don't want to provide the support necessary to win puck battles or they're just in the wrong spot thinking offense and hoping the puck comes to them. You have to earn puck possession. Until there's a mindset change this isn't going to get any better and at this point the rest of the year is an evaluation to see who is willing to buy in. Because if someone doesn't buy in they clearly don't want to be part of a winning team.

The old Chabot is way better than Chychrun. If this version of Chabot is way better than you, then you need to find a different sport to play.

Chychrun needs to find something. He suck’s defensively this year and especially during this skid

Why are we acting like this is the first team ever in the history of sport to face boos from their own fans?

They'll either get over it and use it, or they'll be crushed, in which case if wager they don't have the mental fortitude required to be successful at a high level.

Why are we trying to coddle these guys? Did it work out under the previous coaching staff? Has it brought them an ounce of success to date?

What are we worried about here? Brady will ask for a trade? Tim will quit hockey altogether in a fit of tears?

If they blow the next game, and the barn is silent, then we have a bigger problem than team performance - we have apathetic fans.
I guess my perspective is that if it’s no big deal and they will just get over it, then why do it?

No, the purpose of booing them is to make them feel bad, and vent frustrations towards the only specific organizational members that fans can.

If people want to deliberately engage in that behaviour, well, they have a venue for it at the games. I personally think it should be reserved for our hated rivals and such things, instead of our own players who know they are struggling, and are clearly also not happy.

But whatever, people always have a ton of excuses at the ready for hurtful behaviour.

But they're not trying to stay positive and get better. They're literally sulking and acting bratty. They need a wake up call.

They need to hit rock bottom.

Right now they don't even look like they care to try to learn to get better. You can see it on JMs face. He's so frustrated because they're still skipping on assignments. They're not even trying to learn.
No they aren’t. That’s fan fiction bullshit
