TV Movie Thread Part Iii

I don't have Disney+ anymore but might get it for a month to watch this since Blu Ray is now a dinosaur.

Which, btw, has me stocking up on blu rays because Disney is starting to "vault" shit again which is complete bullshit. I mean, they are going to try to make money by making you buy movies that you can't stream but I'm so tired of Disney's nonsense (particularly after going there for 4 days) that I'm just going to buy old crap and watch it that way
After all the episodes are released I may get Disney for a month. I think they did a good job with DD, Jessica Jones, etc in the past. Much better than they did with Star Wars.

Every time I watch Jimmy Fallon do an interview, I want to give Igor Shesterkin a $20M contract. Because I have never met a less talented hack. The fact that this guy is popular unfortunately confirms' the entire worlds' view of Americans. Dumb as a box of rocks.

Paradise is solid so far. 4 episodes in and interesting concept. I like how each episode has been laid out and the story has unfolded with flashbacks.

Prime re-mastered some films and they look good. I'm watchin' the very good "Enemy of the State", Hackman is great, Lisa Bonet is so pretty (check out "Angel Heart", and Jack Black's character said "Women who don't shave are hot"! 🤯

I saw Novocain last night. It was fun. I miss going to the movies, seeing a fast-paced action flick, and shutting off my brain for two hours, not being talked down to or hit over the head with blatant political preaching.

If Hollywood wants to win moviegoers back, they need more of this, and less of the preachiness and remakes.

Quaid as an action hero should be pretty hilarious. (Love him on animated Star Trek show.)

I watched The Electric State on Netflix, it was incredibly dull.
I haven't read the graphic novel so didn't have any ideas about it, but the movie was a story that has been told a 100 times before, in better ways, with a more engaging cast.
Every actor, with the exception of George Costanza, appears to be going through the motions.
There's no drama, there's no real threat and you are never left wondering about an outcome. You can get away with some, or all, of that in your 'blockbuster' if you can nail your action scenes, but these are just formulaic and at times nonsensical.
God knows how it cost $320m to make

Loving s3 of wheel of time.

They’re now in my favorite book plot.
They’ve made some changes to fix earlier things but it’s working for me.

Agreed. The battle with the black ajah may be the best magic fight I've ever seen including Peter Jackson's LotR.

I read the LotR, Dune, and Foundation before the first SW film came out. If you mean TWoT, I've never read it.

Anora is now free on Hulu/Disney.
wheel of time is a fantastic series if very long.

What the show is now getting into, is what most readers consider the best book.

How many seasons are there going to be?
They haven’t had 4 approved yet.
The original plan was 8 seasons for 14 books.

If they get to season 4, they’ll probably be able to get 5-8 as 4 will need to have one of the biggest battles in tv show history.
Itll make battle of the bastards look gentle.

I'm guessing there's enough interest in the series to warrant doing season 4 at least.

us book fans are pushing hard for more people to watch (hence my posting here), because the end (and they’ve already foreshadowed some big plot beats) are amazing.

And most importantly this is not an unfinished story, it’s entirely finished and wrapped.
