TV Movie Thread Part Iii

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Kate Hudson turned down the lead in The Devil Wears Prada. Bad call. That film made the lovely Anne Hathaway.

So I am trying cord cutting my internet too after cutting off cable TV. My phone plan is ATT so they have an existing customer promo of $47 a month for their All-Fi Hub, which is their 5G home internet. It's spotty. When it works, it's pretty fast, near 100 Mbps DL and 30 Mbps UL. But it's often breaking up, "connected without internet," requiring a reboot of the hub. I have the hub on my 3rd floor and next to a window facing their nearby cell tower too. I don't think it's steady and reliable enough to switch from landline cable internet. I can't see having to reboot the device daily. Anyone else using this and know why it's always going out?

Meanwhile, caught the first 3 new episodes of Reacher. It's a refreshing return to the more S1 feel than the bloated S2.

I really like Ke Huy Quan, but man, I just couldn't pull the trigger on that one. I had a couple of hours to kill the other day while waiting for my dog at the groomer, but I couldn't decide between Love Hurts and One of Them Days. I chose neither. Couldn't do it.

I can only wonder if it was as bad as Argylle. That looked like one of the worst movies of all time.

The third one is already in development. It was green-lit at the end of January I believe.

Funny you mention Argylle because the main actress in Love Hurts, Ariana DuBose was in that too! Argylle was much worse because it was 139 minutes! Love Hurts was thankfully only 83 minutes.

Paying $96 a month for Direct TV Streaming is annoying me but at least I keep my broadband to $40 and my cell phone package is minimal.

I watched Elevation. meh. Cheap post-alien invasion movie.

FInished Zero Day last night after that atrocious Rangers game. Watched it mostly for De Niro and Plemons. I can't say that it was very good, but I've seen worse.

I guess Jack Reacher s3 is next. Sonya Cassidy is in it, my crush from Lodge 49.

I started Reacher 3 last night...gonna go back and start again as I seem to have missed something. Like someone said above, it's more like season 1 -- which is good.

A drifter with a van and a box of crappy vinyl to sell. Solid start.

Well, we haven't given up a goal in the first two minutes so far. Solid start, too.

Call me crazy but after watching The Meg and The Meg 2 I think it is totally plausible that Jason Staham could karate kick a 100 foot shark that swallows boats.
I tried to watch that Redemption/Angel of Death movie of his......didn't finish.

I thought it was okay. I view his movies like pizza and Chinese food. It may not be top notch but I pretty much like it all to a degree :D
I agree.....but something about this one just hit me the wrong way.....maybe it was because he was working for the bad guy.

Got through two eps of Zero Day before I couldn't take it anymore. Thought it was god awful. Should have checked the reviews first, most agree.

Anybody watch the Night Agent ...Season 2 on now ? I enjoyed season one....but that was almost 2 yrs ago it seems ....it takes so long for them to follow up on these shows . The same goes with Bosch Legacy coming back in March season 3 . ]

We are also really enjoying The Pitt....it is basically the first medical drama we have watched .....fantastic so far . Three more months and the golf course will be open.....finally it will be Spring.....

Season 2 of the Night Agent was FANTASTIC. Even better than the 1st season by a wide margin, and I really enjoyed season 1 but there were some slow spots, not in season 2.

I liked him in Guy Ritchie movies... and that's about it.

I enjoyed Beekeeper more than I should have.

For the Reacher followers, first 3 (available) episodes of S3 are worth watching imo.

I didn't check out the reviews, but like I said, I was going to watch for DeNiro and Plemons.

IMDB has a very generous average score of 7 out of 10. Maybe Netflix paid a troll farm for good reviews. I'd give it like 5.5.

Rotten Tomatoes was 54% (Rating based on positive scores, so basically 1 out of 2 reviews were positive). That's not good, but still better than the 17% Hunting Party. Now that is truly awful.

Fwiw, I hated s2 of the Night Agent. Much worse than s1. Speaking of reviews, just for S&G, I pulled up this:

Reviews for "The Night Agent" season 2 are generally negative, with many critics stating that it falls short of the first season's quality, citing a disjointed plot, weaker character development, questionable logic, and a slower pace, despite still delivering some thrills and action; some also highlight issues with the female characters being poorly written and the overall story feeling less believable compared to season 1

Finished the first episode. So far a decent start for Reacher s3. I really dislike Sonya Cassidy's NE accent though. She's British and did ok with a California accent in Lodge 49, but this accent is something else.

Wow, acutally surprised the reviews for season 2 weren't much higher. Thought it was so good.

And unrealistic, yes, but that is most TV shows haha.
