OT: TV & Movie thread: Part III

How are you surviving? I left DirecTv a little over 2 years ago. I signed up for Youtube TV when it was $55, but now it's up to around $90. Getting that itch to get rid of it. I have ESPN +, Hulu, Amazon Prime, Netflix, Apple, Peacock, and Max I get free.

I finally saw Anora tonight after the Rangers game. I loved it. Mikey Madison had her moments on "Better Things", but she was phenomenal in Anora.

Yeah, I'm torn too. Was doing the Hulu+ Live Bundle with ESPN+ and Disney but then I switched to T-Mobile and they have dynamic IP's which don't play nice with Hulu. It's really stupid.

With T-Mobile, I get Apple+ and Netflix (with ads) for free. Have Prime with Max ($9.99) and subscribe also to just ESPN+ now and Fubo with NHL Network package ($80+).

It's really bothering me that I'm pretty much at cable rates, AGAIN, and now have to PAY for services with ADS (prime, Netflix, disney if I want it, etc...) and still don't have the content that I want (Disney for Marvel and the Kids, Paramount+ for Star Trek & Yellowstone, etc...)

I'm paying monthly for ads. That really pisses me off.

All that being said, I think Apple+ is the best bang for the buck, honestly. Their original stuff is simply outstanding, they are still somewhat cheap, and the don't have ads.

I'm being naughty. I'm using my parents' Fios account back in NY with the Fios mobile TV app and cast it on my TV. My xfinity monthly bill got ridiculous. I was looking into Sling and YT Live TV when this idea hit me. So far it is working. Don't know why I didn't try it sooner, but xfinity forced my hand. The channel lineup is ironically even better than my xfinity. I get the occasional buffering and it's like 2 minutes behind live. It detects I'm out of the NYC area so the local channels and CBS, NBC, FOX, ABC are blocked. I just ordered a DTV antenna to fill those channels out. The only time I watch the networks is for sports like the occasional Rangers game, premier league, NFL. I'll use the FOX Sports app for the SB today. My wife has prime video with her Amazon Prime account. I'm paying for a Netflix Standard account.
