Hmm. Just seems like the first part of the graphic novel but animated this time. Might check that out. But for real, to anyone who hasn't read or watched anything related to The Watchmen, just read the graphic novel. You can get it for 15 to 20 bucks and it legit will take you one night and it's one of the best, arguably THE best, comic ever written.

Agreed. I bought it the day it came out in 1986.

imho it's the best DC or Marvel superhero graphic novel.

I mean listing those dudes is almost acting like Alan Moore isn't in that league. It really is that mainstream comics are only just now coming out of the world he helped usher in, and again arguably spearheaded.

If you wanted my honest opinion though, as far as superhero adjacent work, it is the best.

My personal favorite book, Sandman.

Best thing I ever read, Spiegelman's Maus.

Agreed. DC deserves credit for giving Moore & Gaiman an opportunity to influence American hero & non-hero books. Vertigo was a huge influence on American horror books from the big two & the indies.

Yeah that's really the reality. There is just so much good stuff out there. Too much to be honest. Haha

Brubakers Captain America. Miller and Leob Batmans. Gaiman. Moore. Vaughan. Kirkman. Ennis. Too much stuff and too little time.

Man, I just watched Joker: Folie a Deux and goddam was it horrendous. Insanely boring, undermines the entire first film, over long, dull, disappointing and - while a musical could have been fine, even great for Joker - it was totally flat and devoid of any high moments at all.

This is the most positive review of the movie I've seen to date.

Just finished s2 of arcane. What a god damned masterpiece that was.

I give both seasons a full 10/10. This is animated but not for kids.
season 2 gets a slightly lower 9.8/10. The pacing in the middle and the story expands just slightly so you worry it won't wrap up properly.
It does. Holy shit does it.

This is going to be the high water mark for animated shows for at least the next 5 years.

I know absolutely nothing about the game (and don't want to), and was hooked on the story.

The plot was fantastic if meandering at times, but always kept on theme. (if you cant figure out the theme early, its choices and consequences)

The character work was crazy - Characters are redeemed, characters slide down, characters make good decisions and bad decisions. Every decision makes sense. Theres no wildly unpredictable decision because of what we know from the character.

The animation - you forget its animation at times its that good.

The world lived and breathed. There was nuance across each episode to reinforce that the world exists outside of our main characters, and it carried through the whole way.

It was INCREDIBLE.
