I have a hunch Alia isn’t going to be in the movie. Showing a 2-year-old child with an adult intelligence in a movie would make Villeneuve a genius. They also didn’t reveal the pregnancy in part one.
I'm only a casual fan, so I didn't read the books or know the back story. I just know enough that how it's handled is a deviation from the book.

edit: They did reveal that Jessica was pregnant in part 1. It was when Paul was exposed to spice and he sensed it.

They did reveal that Jessica was pregnant in part 1. It was right after the Reverend Mother tested Paul and left, and Paul told Jessica that he can sense she is pregnant.
Oh I didn’t remember that. You really should read the books. They get whacky.

Actually, how it was revealed in Part 1 was different than I remembered, so I went into the spoiler and edited it.

The way they handle Alia is quite novel. :)

Edit: and total coincidence, part 1 is on TNT right now

I figured most would say that but I found Seven a lot more interesting beginning to end than Usual Suspects.
I can see that....what made Usual special was Spacey's performance -- he was totally captivating and had you on the edge of your seat waiting for more of his "story". I am a huge mystery fan and can usually figure out where a story is headed (or get a good idea of who just might be the guilty party). I never saw the end of Usual coming -- THAT alone makes it better to me.

To be honest, I didn't remember that Spacey was in Seven.....I watched that flick for Morgan Freeman -- if not for him, I doubt I would have bothered.

He played a lead role in the "what's the box" scene at the end.

The British do smoke a lot -- especially in their TV shows....Im really surprised they didn't follow US lead and pretty much ban smoking from their productions.
I think it's harder when it's a period story.

AB was the first time I ever heard of Spacey -- granted he was good, Suspects was a tour de force (IMO, of course).

I'm curious -- which character do you like the least?
TBH I haven’t seen the Usual Suspects in years, but it did have my favorite Irish actor Gabriel Byrne.

You mean out of the regulars? Among the non-regulars, Tatiana is just insane. I guess I like Grace the least. I don't really like her story arc.

I have to say that Arthur is the one who really gets on my nerves.
I can see why. I think the actor Paul Anderson is good at conveying his inner turmoil and instability. I don't think they explore the relationship between Esme and John enough.

I don't think so....it's rare to see people smoking in US productions, no matter what time period it is....
That’s not true. Take shows set around the turn of 20th century or even later through maybe 80s - and chain smoking is a given.

He was supposed to. What made him a great character.
