and players like ryan smyth played with fractures and were great team players.......

Did Ryan Smyth do push-ups with stacks of cash on his back?

In all seriousness, you'd be hard pressed to find a Jets fan who didnt love his on ice effort. The kid busted his ass every shift.

That puts a different spin on things doesn't it, hmm?

not really... he was playing with broken bones before the incident. Its to much to call his falling out with teammates and himself deciding to get surgery a coincidence in my mind. Dont think anyone was questioning that he was toughing it out through injuries most the season and that the injuries were bad enough that he should have been sitting.

We've seen him play through with a broken hand and foot. Seen it from other players as well. That really isn't what any Jets fans had a problem. He was a damn beast on the ice, literally the only one who hustled constantly.

His heart on the ice was not the problem.

For me personally the shoulder, foot and hand problem is a positive for his on ice product. He played that hard and produced that well with a destroyed body. He's going to have 8 months to re-energize and is going to have a fresh new start. I'm super excited to see his production.

Wait, what? The CBA says you need to wear business suits to team meetings? I'll laugh my ass off if I'm wrong here but I'm pretty sure the CBA doesn't weigh in on track suits.

Nope, he's right. The CBA does tell you what you have to wear to team meetings. I had the same reaction as you did when I heard it though!

5. Players are required to wear jackets, ties and dress pants to all Club games and
while traveling to and from such games unless otherwise specified by the Head
Coach or General Manager.

From the CBA.

But Kane did not travel to the game.

Got any CBA quotes about team meetings?

A team meeting is not a team game. CBA has nothing to do with it.

If I was a player I'd take a huge discount so I could wear pajama pants. I'd sign cheaper for a clause that states I can wear them pajamas

The team meeting was at the arena before the game. I'd wager that that constitutes as traveling to the game.

You'd lose that wager.

The team meeting that Kane missed was midday.

The team bus to the game was 5 hours later.

The team meeting was at the arena. When Kane found that out, he didn't have time to change out of his tracksuit, which led to his tracksuit being thrown in the water.

Either it constitutes as traveling to the game, or the Jets have their own dress code for team meetings, which varies depending on the location, and breaking it is enough to be a healthy scratch for the game.

Buffalo dodged a bullet here. Imagine if he really just needed a change of scenery and set the world on fire costing them McEichel

What part of...

"The team bus to the game was 5 hours later."

... did you not understand.

OF COUSE "the Jets have their own dress code for team meetings".

That's different than Kane violating the CBA (as per the debate at hand).

Also, a player doesn't usually get "scratched" for breaking the team dress code.

(it's usually a fine).

But wait, Kane was placed on IR retroactive to Monday the 2nd.

Canucks game was Tuesday the 3rd.

So Evander wasn't a "healthy scratch" after all, wasn't punished for the track suit (that we know of) after all.

Well okay, Big Buff did some punishing...
