Compared to the NHL Network broadcast of USA games where the co-commentator sounds like he is trying to name every university in America, it’s much better
Amen brother. Even some of us in Canada think TSN is hot garbage on a July summer day.I don't think anyone outside of NA or maybe even just Canada likes TSN.
I mean, shouldn’t they be biased to a certain degree?
They’re thousand times better than the Swedish broadcasts in terms of everything, especially broadcasting. The Swedish broadcast are just a bunch of cheerleaders most of the time, doing weird sounds when something happens and being like “Kom igen nu Sverige!” (Let’s go Sweden!) in the middle of a game. It’s so annoying. The Swedish commentators can also focus whole periods on what placement in a draft a player was picked, which is also kinda confusing
I mean I watched that game and there absolutely was an intermission panel. So not sure if it was a problem on your end or some weird glitch....because there was an intermission panel lolAmen brother. Even some of us in Canada think TSN is hot garbage on a July summer day.
The editorial stuff aside, their technical presentation of this years event has been amateurish. I watched a game on TSN1 earlier this week (Thursday USA Swiss game) that has no intermission panel, no cut always for commercials so camera just showed black screen with arena audio at times, they showed Button and Beyak on mute yapping with an off screen producer or tech during breaks in play or just before resuming PBP, intermission show consisted of camera trained on the arena scoreclock. It made HockeyTV look Like it was Emmy Award level TV. Unprofessional garbage.

There was on TSN3 but not TSN1. It was very weird.I mean I watched that game and there absolutely was an intermission panel. So not sure if it was a problem on your end or some weird glitch....because there was an intermission panel lol
No I watched on the TSN app on my subscription. So your not pretty sure.Pretty sure you are tapping into some streamed version and not the actual network broadcast.
I’m super curious how he got a raw feed. That’s so strange.I mean I watched that game and there absolutely was an intermission panel. So not sure if it was a problem on your end or some weird glitch....because there was an intermission panel lol
Whenever I watch matches with english-speaking commentators, they always seem so unbiased and professional to me. Probably because here in Latvia, commentators dont even try to be neutral and hide their emotions. And why would they - no one cheering for a different will watch a Latvian broadcast anyway, and even if they will, they wont understand anything.
So, I dont see a reason why commentators should not be biased towards their home country. And TSN actually considers that they might have an international english-speaking audience. No fault in being a little more interested in team Canada for them.
Sounds more like a fictional account of TSN than anything I have seen over years of watching coverage of the WJC.If a player scores a nice goal in the tournament, it is pretty much guaranteed said prospect will be an impact superstar in the league next year according to TSN.
Or the luckiest! Loved that camera.BUT.. f*** their camera, they robbed Russia of a 'potential' Gold! If that happened to my team I would've had a nervous breakdown.lol Still the least lucky bounce I've ever seen in a gold game.
I did not notice that Formenton scored, not that TSN could do as you say without getting sued. Hockey Canada did bury that he was on the team though, which is shady. As for the rest, no, TSN already buried one tournament due to allegations that have yet to even lead to a charge. It would be stupid to continue discussing said allegations with no particularly relevant new information during a hockey broadcast.Who does it better?
Eg. Czech TV shows the Czechs games only. During those games they are in front of a blue screen doing the pre game which is about 2 minutes long. DUring intermissions they go to the same pretaped packages of the athletes living in their covid bubbles during the Chinese olympics, the bronze win at the Skoda and the lady bronze win at the worlds.
Do I love the TSN coverage... it's overbearing and if you never watched hockey and were a casual fan then you'd think Canada has won 30 straight because the weeks leading up replay every Canada gold win ever with the 'this is our game' ads in between. But, none of that happened this year. It was very quiet going in.
Do I think they should have Rick Westhead in every panel talking legal cases? NO
Do I think they should acknowledge it? YES
Fromenton just scored in the Spengler and not a f***en peep about why he's not in the NHL.
It's tone deaf. I feel the same about the Oiler's MSM not asking Bob Nicholson ONE question. But again, not looking for hatchet jobs but it's happening and ignoring it is bad.
But, name a network that does this better?
Should be noted he wasn't playing for Team Canada he was on one of the club teams I believe. If he was on Team Canada that probably would have been a story.I did not notice that Formenton scored, not that TSN could do as you say without getting sued.
