What do you think about the way TSN covers the World Juniors every year?

Do you think they accurately cover the players or teams? Or do you think they overhype things?

Also, do you think TSN has a bias towards certain teams? Or are they fair and impartial?

All things considered, what do you think of TSN's coverage?

Well, one, I wouldn't expect "fair and balanced". It's a Canadian network covering the event for a Canadian audience. It's going to be heavily focused on Canada and much less on the other team.

Otherwise, I think they do a decent job. They're not afraid to say if Canada are playing poorly or if the opposition is playing well and doing something that Canada is struggling with. They didn't think the Czech game was a fluke or anything.

The panel does like the underdog, like an Austria or Latvia making an upset, but otherwise I wouldn't say they're unfair towards other teams.

Whenever they put Button on it becomes a sideshow but no one takes him seriously anyway.

A bigger laugh is all the video packages Lysell gets for his zero point tournament where they gush over his pretty moves and ignore they’re all turnovers and he has killed his line’s offense over and over.

They went in with a narrative that he’s amazing and damnit…being terrible isn’t going to make them find anything else to talk about.

TSN is nothing but bias towards one subject

You can have a team focused broadcast and still draw out interesting stories about other clubs, and they've done that.

They've talked about my faves Svozil and Jiricek plenty, even when they were playing vs Canada.

Seems like fair and balanced coverage would include coverage of the alleged breeding ground for rapists problem. Did it?
Yes. Far too much, and regular TSN viewers were lamenting how much time they were actually spending on it. We were actually clamouring for them to return to more regular coverage of actual hockey. Not their fault if you didn’t watch the channel at the time they were covering it. Also, maybe you should keep in mind that it was TSN’s own Rick Westhead that broke the story in the first place.

A Canadian network biased in their coverage to the Canadian national team? No say it ain't so...

Other than overhyping prospects in terms of their likely significance in the NHL it's pretty good. TSN shows all of the games and provides commentators for every game. The coverage is Canada centric, which anyone with a functional brain would expect given that TSN is a Canadian network. No need for the buzzwords of the OP, it's a professionally presented tournament.

TSN overreported on the allegations, to the point that many morons even conclude that they knows what happened when they very obviously do not. The summer tournament was buried by TSN for this reason.

I’d be shocked if they hadn’t. TSN’s Rick Westhead broke the story in the first place and has covered it many times since.

I don't think anyone outside of NA or maybe even just Canada likes TSN.
I like TSN. Of course they're biased and it wouldn't be good if they weren't...but they're still less biased than coverage in most other countries I think.

I mean they are Canadians covering it for Canadians, they will be biased and Canada -focused. Its the same in every country. Own country > rest

I have loved watchinh TSN in the past, especially listening Gord.. but since Canada is on a separate group than Finns I don't even try to watch since don't wanna listen to Button 😅

I think they have given a lot of coverage to Czechia.

Marcel Marcel is a household name after the last few days.

If anything I think some of the old school guys are a bit harsh with criticism ti Canada. The Michigan attempts weren't even that bad. But some of the media guys are trying to replace Don Cherry it seems, and running with the narrative that this was the only reason we lost game 1.

TSN’s primary focus is Canada because it’s their primary audience. But I also see them showing every game in this tournament by every country. Sounds pretty balanced to me. Do other countries do this? I think I already know the answer.
Sweden broadcasts every game I think, but is split between 2 broadcasts

I mean, shouldn’t they be biased to a certain degree?

They’re thousand times better than the Swedish broadcasts in terms of everything, especially broadcasting. The Swedish broadcast are just a bunch of cheerleaders most of the time, doing weird sounds when something happens and being like “Kom igen nu Sverige!” (Let’s go Sweden!) in the middle of a game. It’s so annoying. The Swedish commentators can also focus whole periods on what placement in a draft a player was picked, which is also kinda confusing
