Trouba claims to want to play on the right side and be top 1 or 2. But, on any team you will heavy competition for a top 2 pairing on either side, so all I hear is, I am not confident I can play better than the current right D on the Jets, therefore I want to play on a team that has no competition for the top right D spots. Good, F off Jacob. F you, your agent and the horse you came in on.

There's loads of teams where Trouba would be the RD in the top 4 quite easily. Top 4 RD are one of the rarest commodities.

I wish we knew if Pouliot was gonna end up a stud top 4 guy+no exp. draft cuz i'd offer up Maatta.

NJ makes alot of sense but they don't have the pieces to send back, do they?

Trouba + Ehlers for Gaudreau?

Bad trade for the flames imo. Ehlers is a good player as is trouba but he flames have 3 real good dmen and (2 are top 15) and have some nice prospects at the position. I have only seen gaudreau recently but he's a lot different than I'd imagine e a player his stature would play. He's too valuable to trade. A core of him, Monahan, brodie, Tkachuk, bennett, and hamilton is better than ehlers plus trouba in that core.

Connor Brown wouldn't be the centre piece, but if you think he's just an AHL player then you should probably hold off on commenting on Leaf prospects

I think he struggles to make the lineup this year and in the future. Just as he will in the Leaf organization. He could be good, but it'll hard for him work into either lineup, given that they have so much talent. He also isn't anywhere near as valuable as Trouba, and I think I'd just hope that this situation resolve itself than have brown a 2nd.

I find it hard to believe this is only about playing the right side.Gary Lawless on TSN in an interview stated he was 3rd among D in minutes, and he played on the right side. Soo what gives?

He played on the right paired with Mark Stuart. I think that is more of an issue than a RHD role, to be honest.

I think the jets while not being in the best position won't trade to any team without equal value coming back. I also agree with Trouba he needs more opportunities and the jets are too deep on the right side.

Ultimately what the jets need is a left top pairing defencemen.

Jets need a top 4 LHD now. Maybe a deal could be made for a more veteran guy and a really good prospect.

The big problem is we need to get a Dman that doesn't need to be protected in the expansion draft

It's probably more to it.
Maybe he really wanted to play state side.

Him playing 3rd most minutes, really doesn't paint the whole picture.
Big Buff still plays all the most important situation and gets the best of the minutes. Given that, Buff deserve it though.

Trouba after Buff signing for that long, probably felt he is not unseating Buff for another 3 years. Maybe Trouba thinks his offense is suffering because of it, actual point production wise.

I just hope the Jets can get the best deal possible out of it. Jets have a lot of cards including, packaging him with other forwards.
Dano, Armia, Petan, Burmistrov, Lowry, even Roslovic, etc....
to get a higher end player .

One thing though, this open the door more for Morrisey
