I watched s lot of jet games last year, and I saw a perfect RD d-manfor a second pairing. Not quite good enough, to be a 1 st pairing guy. I believe jets fans will be disappointed in their return, unless some GM, gets desperate, and falsely believes Trouba can be a first pairing guy. If Philly did trade Provorov, for Trouba Hextall would be roasted by most Philly fans

Here is my Offer, what do jets fans think?

Canucks trade Top Prospect Olli Juolevi, Janick Hansen, and a 2017 2nd
Jets trade Top 4 d-man Jacob Trouba, and gritty LW Brendan Lemieux. and a 2017 3rd Rounder.

Summary: The canucks managment is in a retool type mode, Trouba fits that mold perfectly, Young, talented, and ahead of the game than olli (who imo will be a top 2 guy in the NHL). Lemieux is a gritty guy who can replace a alex burrows in the upcoming seasons.

Losing Hansen really hurts, maybe the most consistent third liner in the NHL, but we need spots to open up for our youth, ala Virtanen

So Tanev Trouba and Gudbranson down the right side? Seems pretty expensive to house them all or are you anticipating a Tanev trade down the line?

Edmonton, AB
Justin Faulk (or Noah Hanifin) + Nicolas Roy
For
Trouba + Kyle Connor

Straight up for Trouba I'd do Haydn Fleury or Brett Pesce + Canes 1st

Oilers fan here, I don't do that if I'm the Canes. Faulk is one of the best (relatively) young defensemen in the league.I don't give that up for Trouba. Maybe I do Hanifin.

C Brown has potential but who does he beat out on the Jets?

Just does not fill a need.

I know he doesn't fill need. You guys need a dman back I think, right?

I'd kill to get Trouba, but the Leafs can't afford to give up D. I'd overpay for Troub, though. Kadri and our 1st (no protection) if I had confidence Trouba would sign for under 6 but I know Kadri doesn't fill a need for you guys as you have Scheifele and Little

Would be a gamble on the Canes side that Connor can become the 1c (edit: or elite 1st liner from wings) they desperately need.

Should've taken Taylor Hall and ran, Winnipeg. Doubt the return now will be anywhere close to that now.

He's definitely top pairing in time if his development goes well. Off ice behavior and attitude are probably the things holding him back. He has all the other ingredients.

Why? jets need defenseman not wingers. They need em even more with Trouba wanting out. No way in hell should Jets take that deal

They knew in May he wanted out, Hall would've been a terrific return, you can't be so locked in on position all the time, you're getting a better player back, no ifs, ands, or buts.

Taylor Hall is a way better player than a Cam Fowler or Nazem Kadri or some package of picks/prospects.

I wonder if new jersey could put something together. Trouba would be a nice add for them.

Maybe some combo of Severson, Zacha, Blackwood, picks?

Well, we do have a LHD we can offer in Jack Johnson. Not sure if he's someone Winnipeg would actually be interested in, tho. We'd probably be looking at some sort of three-way arrangement in any case due to the expansion draft.

(No, Murray would not be on the table, no matter what. He's been way too effective with Jones. Ditto Werenski, for other reasons.)

Fun fact that people are missing here. The Jets don't need to trade him and bottom line... they won't unless what they are offered helps them so ppl can forgot about guys like ehlers and Connor being added.... that's not gonna happen

Connor hasnt played C for a couple years

Ah, didn't get the chance to watch him last year and figured he put up those points from C.

Regardless, the Canes need a driver on offense and Connor could still do that from the wing.

Leafs can't afford to trade any of Rielly, Gardiner or Zaitsev so if I were Lou I'd offer...

Unprotected 2017 1st Rd Pick
Dermott
Valiev

The 1st Rounder is the center piece and if most Jets fans are to be believed, it will be a Top 5 pick at minimum (maybe #1 OA with a lottery win). Dermott & Valiev are solid LHD prospects with Dermott having the higher upside as a potentially good #3/#4 D in 2-3 years.

That might not be enough but I'm also 99.99% sure Marner/Nylander are non-starters altogether based on what mgmt has said in the past year so if there is an add it would be something other than our untouchables (Rielly, Matthews, Nylander, Marner, Anderssen).

Trouba claims to want to play on the right side and be top 1 or 2. But, on any team you will heavy competition for a top 2 pairing on either side, so all I hear is, I am not confident I can play better than the current right D on the Jets, therefore I want to play on a team that has no competition for the top right D spots. Good, F off Jacob. F you, your agent and the horse you came in on.
