What about......

Marchand - Poitras - Frederic

Get's Frederic back on his off-wing which historically he's been more productive. I like how he carries the puck down the right side, just looks faster, more confident, leans into defenders and drives to the net more with the puck.

Find the proper LW for Lindholm and Coyle and you'd have a pretty strong defensive shut-down line. Doesn't have to be a scorer (that would be nice) just a LW you really trust defensively.
Put Beecher on LW and make that your third line. Bring up Viel waive Koepke

Put Jones in on the fourth line

These power forwards are rarely game impacting anymore, but expect to be paid as such. Frederic for example impacts 5% of games in any manner.
The best ones do, but they are rare as you said (which is why we call them unicorns, right?), and furthermore, they don't last. Tom Wilson is an outlier. Josh Anderson was that guy, then he broke down. Evander Kane I think fit the model, then broke down. Wayne Simmonds broke down etc. etc. It's probably the fastest path to shortening your career.

As for trade value, he's probably worth a 3rd Rd pick.
i can tell you with great certainty that he's worth more than that. i don't know if the bruins will trade him (people in
the know are saying they continue to try to sign him), but there are numerous teams lining up to acquire the guy.
there's a world where he nets you a 1st round pick, too. depends on how many teams end up bidding.

So, you want to move no hands Beecher up, have Viel & Jones on the 4th line and waive Koepke (+9, best of all Bruins forwards).

May need to give that one some more thought.
That what I said.

You want to watch the Koepke's of the world watch more AHL hockey. Or give him Coyle's spot in the line up, hell he's a plus 9 player as you said.

Koepke is just another body wearing a Bruin uniform.

Absolute best return they can hope for, IMO, is a late 2nd (55 to 64 range). If this season went like last season for him, you’d be looking at a late 1st. But this season has certainly been a step back from last.

we shall see. if he gets traded, i believe they'll do better than 55-64. cap hit is pretty reasonable too.
heard the oilers are very interested, among many others. if i'm sweeney, i'd even consider retaining half
to bump the return (we have all 3 retention spots, and marchand is probably the only other guy you
look at as far as retention - we probably aren't retaining on guys with term unless someone wants korpisalo).

I don't know- any one interested in Trent would look at the body of work and also see that the Bruins as a whole this season have been a mess. I could certainly see a team believing that he would do better in a different environment with a different role or linemates or whatever. I could see a team forking over a first for him very easily. Now maybe not a top ten pick, but Frederic is as good or better than most guys you could pick in the later first round,

was hoping that was all set, but again this is the same guy who couldn't be named GM and then prep for the draft five weeks later.

He Poitras and Coyle could develop into one of the better third lines in the league IMO
Stop it. Just stop.

Letterhead to order, business cards to design and order, testing out new desk chairs, artwork in office, recording new telephone messages for missed calls, email sign off templates, 401K decisions, changing wardrobe but not so much that it is seen as a reach, learning where new office is, calling family to tell about new job, seeing if there is a GM chat group/WhatsApp, updating LinkedIn profile........ The list literally goes on and on and on.

Be better.

Serious question to Boston fans from an Edmonton fan; is this guy worth going after? There have been rumors about the Oilers acquiring Trent Frederic but I legit don't know what they're getting if they do.

I've only seen him play two or three times total. I *think* he can skate well but he seems to disappear from the games I've watched so I can't really say for sure. I don't know enough about him to hope the Oilers land him or not.

The Oilers need size, speed, youth and grit in the bottom six.

Does Frederic fit the bill?

I don`t even bother trying to sign him, seen enough, there will be better out there, the concern I have is Don and Cam identifying the right piece that is out there
Which players would you be eying on the offseason?

Sort of. He has all those attributes, but he disappears for weeks at a time. One game he looks like he could be a game breaker, the next 5 he looks like he's going through the motions. He's basically a 30 point 3-4th liner who has size, can hit, and can fight middleweights.

Habs with some serious interest. But he would be a pure rental for them as almost everyone I talk to say Frederic would never sign an extension with them. So why would they bother?

tell my boy stan that frederic is a true difference maker for the oilers. great skater, wicked shot, plays hard every single shift, bone crushing hits all over the ice and he arrives on time for every hit. will easily put up 55 pts a year consistently.......savoie and a 1st should do it but act quickly there will be a bidding war :-)

He fulfills all of those things except speed. He plays better when he's engaged so that means either playing center or playing with guys on his line that force him to move his feet.

If we are signing last year’s version of Frederic then I am all for it. This years not as much. I just don’t know which season was the exception.

The only thing in 100% certain of is they cannot lose him for nothing. Whether that be way of extension or pieces coming back remains to be seen. There is still time
I've been pretty vocal about it but I extend Freddy. I don't think Frederic is the consistent 40 point scorer like last year but he's not the 20 point scorer this year either when many others have been performing below expectations. He's likely somewhere in the middle.

Take Tom Wilson for example. Last year on a very pedestrian Capitals team that squeaked into the playoffs, he had 35 points. It was one of his worst statistical years and he was a disappointment. Let me remind you, he gets FIVE more minutes of ice time per game than Freddy and PP1 time. Thats just simply not top six production. But guess what...he rebounded and is having a career year at 30 because the whole team is better.

Take Lawson Crouse...he has like 10 more points than Freddy over the past three years and he plays in Utah's top six. Half this fanbase drools over him.

Now is the perfect time to try to buy low on Frederic. Give him a little bit of term to get the AAV down, play with him Poitras and get an actual top six forward to improve the whole team and then watch as all of a sudden you start seeing a player closer to last year.

Trading him for a 2nd round pick doesn't improve this team. Getting better players around him does.
