It all depends on the contract ask with him. If he's looking for a substantial raise ($4m+ AAV), I think the Bruins have to think twice about it. As for who is going to take his spot if they trade him or let him walk? How about Cole Koepke? If Fred comes in around $3-3.5 he' probably worth keeping if he has a strong rest of the season.

liked his play the last 3 games or so, actually noticing him in a positive way, I`ve hammered him this year but I feel it was all well earned but I try to be fair, noticeable change to his overall game, looking far more engaged lately, wonder if the presence of Kastelic on that line has given him a bit of a jolt too?

Agreed, he has been better recently. I am hoping he keeps it up. Like you I've hammered the guy, but it's not because I don't like the player and want him gone at any cost. I just want him to be the player he can be and the player we've all see him be in the past. If he does that, he has brings some real value to the lineup.

totally agree friend, he has more to give, let`s see it with more regularity, I think the change in coaching system has helped Freddy like almost everyone else

2 goals 7 hits on Saturday

He and Carlo criminally underrated by Bruins fans

20 goals this season - lock

Oh and Sweeney said 100% in contract extension talks
Even with the two goals, he's on pace for 14 and has 5 total. Not anything you write home about. If you want to break it down even more, he has 2 goals in 2 games this year and one goal other than that. So he's impacted what 3 games out of 29 he's played in? Yikes.

That second PP unit has looked real dangerous with him on it. Once Coyle gets over whatever he's dealing with they could be a real force and that third line of Frederic Coyle Kastellic is just what the doctor ordered for this club.

You got 0.0 zero credibility with me - super guy but terrible hockey takes

I’d rather you be a nice guy and know nothing about hockey though

What's not true about what I said? He's got 5 goals all season in 3 games. The other 26 games? Nada mucho.

A few weeks of poor play to start and definitely a couple weeks now where he has been back to last year's level. Pretty much expected from a depth guy
No idea what Montgomery was trying to get them to do early in the season but it didn't work for anyone. I do think the PP time is good for Frederic and for the PP

I was disappointed with Frederics play under Monty but he has looked like he did last year with Sacco, I will wait to see what his whole season looks like before passing judgement. I know I would not want him replaced on the third line by a Heinen or similar player. I have always liked his edge and while there playing with attitude has improved this year I would like to see a 4th liner added who is physical, let Viel get a look with Koepke and Beecher.

No. He hasn't.

He has lately though.

Will he until the end of the season?

Only Lonnie knows for sure.
Nah, I'm not a psychic, but I hope he does. I called him to break 20 goals this year, actually. So if he misses badly, my prediction is cooked. I'm hoping he pulls a 180 and lights it up. They need it.

We can talk about Frederic’s start but not Korpisalo - these are Lonnie’s rules and we all have to abide them.
Nah, you can talk about whatever you want. However, if you take a premature victory lap, I'll happily remind you if that falls flat by season's end. You know, like your celebration of every Freddy goal last year on his march to 20, until he disappeared and didn't come close? :biglaugh:
