what exactly is the point of this guy? He doesn't bring one particular thing to the table that make him stand out. He's supposed to be a sandpaper guy, but he doesn't throw impactful hits, he doesn't fight often and when he does he doesn't do much and worst case he does it at a bad time and give the other team a jump like against San Jose. He's not a defensive specialist, he's not a speedster, he's not a PP guy.

I realize he has improved and he has his moments like in the post above this, but for a guy that generated quite a bit of excitement with his fights against Wilson last year and his willingness to run around during that stretch it has been pretty disappointing to see what a quiet player he has turned into. It's especially infuriating that they passed on a guy like Debrincat to take a guy like Frederic for his toughness & sandpaper, but then he doesn't even play that game consistently.

They should trade him to St Louis where he's still a cult hero,it's obvious he's not interested in bringing the truculence for this team anymore
This is not the same player I enjoyed watching in Providence

I thought he may have struck his head on the ice.
Nasty hit by Brown. Bruins need a big hitter like him
on the back end. McAvoy isn't close to enough.
yeah, number 1 thought is that I hope Freddy is ok.

Next thought is damn I wish the Bruins had a couple guys who could hit like that.

Frederic is supposed to be our tough guy, but then he takes one of the nastiest hits I've seen a Bruin take in a couple years. Not saying it's his fault or makes him any less tough, but man I would like our guys to be hammers instead of nails for once. McAvoy does what he can, but the guy already has a lot on his plate without having to also be Scott Stevens out there. The sad thing is Frederic actually looked small compared to Brown. The Bruins have a lot of guys with heart and willingness to play physical, but size matters and they could definitely use more of it.

Who said this kid is their tough guy? He’s had a few fights. Cassidy and company have obviously told him to just play hockey. Weather it’s taken him of his way of playing I don’t know. Because a guy got hit hard due to a pass that left him hanging, doesn’t say yah or nay about him.

I get the message that he should play a quieter game and focus on being productive in his role - but one of the things that made him so successful last year was that he would get under players skin and he drew a ton of penalties.

Sure seems like he's playing at 80% so far this year, trying to think the game through rather than bringinhg his whole package. If and when he gets back I hope they loosen the leash a bit and feed him some raw meat

If Trent Frederic is there to play a “quieter” role, what role is that? He’s limited offensively, actually, well… he’s bad offensively. His skating has improved a bit, but it’s still not great.

If he’s not agitating and bringing a physical element, what does he bring? He’s essentially a worse Par Lindholm.

Turn goal scorers into muckers

Turn tough guys into passive, peel off checks and get back into position passive guys

for once I would love the bruins to play their drafted centers as you know centers. Studnicka sucks on the wing and Freddy needs to learn

but no, let’s bring in Haula and Nosek

anyways let Freddy play his game when he comes back. At center

Here is what lines should be

WMD- Bergy - Foligno
Hall - Coyle - Pastrnak
DeBrusk-Haula - Smith
Lazar - Nosek - Studnicka

Florida approach is having two studs on the wings centered by Bennett who’s never cracked 40 points

teams are running 63 and 37 and Foligno can run the runners
