He just turned 23. Not sure why people were writing him off.
I would say that Dermot , Holl and Sandi were better than Barrie.I thought he was easily our best D man last night and was so poised in the third clearing danger.
When we win everyone gets credit, I’m reading how great Barrie was last night. Sorry I didn’t see it, thought he was awful in our end for the most part.I would say that Dermot , Holl and Sandi were better than Barrie.
Barrie scares the shit out of me everytime he has the puck . He is really careless.
Marincin scares me when he has the puck on his stick as well. Hopefully scoring that goal will settle him down .

Dermott is so undisciplined - he could have taken three penalties tonight - which is good because naturally the refs will give us compensation PPs that we can score on. Everybody wins. Except the opposition, they'll lose.
He’s the vet on D, it is sort of maddening how he hasn’t elevated his play. He was fine against Florida I noticed, but was mindless all night against Vancouver and was bailed out a few times. Doesn’t seem to have another gear, he just is what he is....Sad part is that Barrie also makes his partner worse. Sandin is in deep as it stands, when he is paired with Barrie, he is lost.

I think perhaps it could also be attributed to him outgrowing third pairing competition.Dermott seems to always play better when he gets more icetime. Whenever hes on the third pairing he looks very meh, but when he gets top 4mins and is relied upon hes solid

That's the one part I really want him to work on. Very careless/reckless player, I can see him being easily goaded into taking dumb penalties. Seeing the way guys take runs at him too I get the sense he's not very well liked by opponents lol.Dermott is so undisciplined - he could have taken three penalties tonight - which is good because naturally the refs will give us compensation PPs that we can score on. Exactly. Until there's real change in officiating, that's a significant advantage.I always thought that's what Boston does well, refs are loathed to call penalties all game and they will even things up "game management" style so they push the limits of the rules consistently because they won't be punished for it
It's something I wish our boys would all learn and start really pushing the boundaries of what they can get away with, there isn't any downside
He plays on the edge and we need a guy like that on our backend. He has always been a very competitive guy. But he is learning da ropes of NHL defense. That's the one part I really want him to work on. Very careless/reckless player, I can see him being easily goaded into taking dumb penalties. Hopefully he cleans that up because otherwise he's been excellent during a very important stretch of games.
The NHL game management reffing program is Wrong. Just call da penalties by da rule book. That was the way it was. Most everything else in hockey is changing. Why aren't da refs? It is why I hate da CAP, game management, revenue sharing etc all designed to make everyone equal.Exactly. Until there's real change in officiating, that's a significant advantage.
