There's a reason I was surprised that he was left off the preliminary Team Canada camp roster. Booth may be a dark horse for their WJC team this year but he's IMHO one of Canada's 3 best options rather easily.

Garbage time goal makes this one look closer then it was. Big win for the Canes with only Dallas, who New York handled today, left to play before the placement games

And the fact that we couldn't score the empty netter in something like 10 attempts.

Anyway, good solid win. I was hoping to see more out of guys like Bean, Roy, and Gauthier, but we got some decent performances out of some of our skill guys, and that's nice to see even if they're from the guys who probably won't get above the AHL.

I don't like to overreact to any player performances in these things, but it's definitely fun to watch, and as a team as a whole, they look pretty good.

Not sure if this was posted before. Looks like they are keeping Fleury out of the rest of the tournament as a precaution. Francis says it's not serious though and he should be ready for camp.

"We're debating [Monday] on whether or not he'll play any of the remaining two games but I think at the end of the day we'll just rest him and get him ready for the opening of training camp on Friday rather than push him here," Hurricanes general manager Ron Francis told NHL.com. "It's nothing serious and he'll be back in camp on Friday ready to roll."

Sucks for Fleury that he won't likely get these games as they've been a catalyst for making the team for young guys a few times, giving them a boost heading into training camp. But it's better for him to be healthy for the real thing. I'm sure they'll give him some big opportunities in big camp. Just great to hear that it's likely not a big thing.

Poturalski gets the puck on a two on one and fails to either pass or shoot. Looked like he was dead set on pass but couldn't think fast enough to shoot when the defenseman dove to block the lane. Instead, he wound up with a pretty lame attempt at a wrap around. Not exactly the moment you want in front of 10 zillion scouts.

This scoreboard coverage is pretty sweet. I just tuned in, is it stuck or is this all they got?

edit: Intermission... Took me way too long to realize it.

Missed who it was, but one of our players made a really terrible turnover in the neutral zone, and then, trying to get it back, whacked a Dallas player's stick into his own face. Which did draw the high sticking call, but...

Edit: we score in the power play. McKeown, I think. Whacked it in right in front of the net.
