Bad line change lets Bertuzzi skate in around everyone trying to get back and gets his second

EDIT: 6-3 now

Needaspellcheck with a great save to prevent it from becoming a 6-5 game with 1 minute left...hold on a little longer guys

EDIT: Did the feed just end for anyone else during Detroit's timeout?

If the Hurricanes prospects win the game but no Hurricanes fans are able to witness it...did they really win?

And we won! We won in 2009 and went to the conference finals that year (also the last time we made the playoffs), so a decent omen.

Feed crashed for me too, but I got it back for a few seconds to see handshakes.

Great tourney for the kids. Team was pretty fun to watch and did a lot of things well. Hopefully this championship will be a sign of good things to come in the future. Pretty nice to have done it without Fleury mostly as well. I think almost everyone in this tournament had some pretty good moments, among some rusty ones. Good stuff all around.

We just won that tournament comfortably without our top forward and defense prospect, as well as Saarela. Really impressive group of kiddos we have.

That's some balanced scoring right there. Kuokkanen with only 1 point #BUSTTT :shakehead

On a serious note I think Koukkanen had a reallyyy good tournament and the score sheet does not show how good he was.

FYI - one of the McKeown is actually Wallmark's. It was a mistake on one of the scoresheets.

If someone smarter than me that knows more about our prospects could address this for me, do we actually have a real prospect in this Steven Lorentz kid?

Seems like the feedback from every prospect camp and tournament is that he's never on the "future star" list but he always looks solid and is an overall positive. Does that top out as an AHL player? Or does he actually have NHL bottom sixer as a ceiling?

He looks to me like a guy with Riley Nash potential. I say that as a good thing.

Knock him all you want, but he was a useful complimentary guy for most of his time here. And if we can get a decent complimentary player out of a 7th round pick, that's what good development looks like.

LaRose or Nash would both be good outcomes for Lorentz. Obviously when you're talking 7th rounders you can wind up with a Zetterberg, but that's not particularly realistic.

LaRose is someone I didn't appreciate until we didn't have him any more. I'd kill for another LaRose. Then again, I feel like the majority of criticism at the end of his career was more his utilization rather than any knocks on himself
