Wasn't able to follow this one; doesn't look like I missed much?

I know it's a meaningless tournament with half a roster's worth of scrubs, but I would really like for us to do well one f***ing time.

It's always a bit of a sour note leading up to training camp.

Yeah I agree to some extent. It always feels like the coaches just never get them prepared for it but they don't really have much practice time or time to get things to come together.

I"m just saying...if your PP plan is to work it back to the point guy for a wrist shot through traffic, it's a bad plan unless the guy taking the shot is Shattenkirk

Yeah I agree, Rangers don't look remotely in sync and there's a lot of weird decisions with the puck being made. Like I said earlier, Lindgren has been all over the place and maybe jumping up on the play a bit too much. Not a ton of team play

Yeah, just watching a period and a half, I would still bet that the DRW side has a week more together than our team that just isn't there yet.

Yes... its TC... Yes... it is a meaningless tournament... Yes Yes Yes.
Still... why the f do the NYR always seem to be outmatched, outclassed, outsmarted, outplayed and outscored every single year? Why why why?

because we can't hire a decent AHL coach since 2005

Veleno clearly better than any NYR prospect!

He continues to be such an interesting player.

There are moments you can see why was an exceptional talent starting out in the Q. Then there are other moments where you wonder if he projects as more than a third line player. Sometimes both in the same game.

This tournament is a waste of time. Means less than nothing.
It's like...50/50.

It's a barometer to see where kids are coming into camp(s). Let's coaching staff take a first look at kids coming out of the summer training and whatnot and see what to focus on in their respective camps. Lets the Rangers FO take a look at who goes back to juniors (not that the Rangers really have any of those guys this year, since most if not all are at least AHL-bound) compared to turning pro.

It's not "nothing," but it's also not something important. It's a training camp for training camp.
