I still don't care much about Traverse. Short tournament, unfamiliar teammates. Some guys will really highlight their skills or their deficiencies, and that's fine. Some guys that were observed to be pretty good last season (Lindgren, for example) will struggle. Not a big deal. Unless someone looks really bad or really stands out, I don't think this moves the needle that much. It's an evaluation tool for sure, but only a small piece of the overall evaluation puzzle. There are always some real takeaways from this, but guys will win jobs or determine their asssignments for the upcoming year during camp and the preseason schedule, not here. Wake me up when TC is over.

Well in defense of the guy that's making **** up, from the little I saw and what I read, Lindgren did pretty well in his AHL stint. I put far more stock in his debut performance in the AHL than in anything at Traverse.

And for that same reason, I am hopeful Ronning will be better than expected.

Lindgren, Chytil and Andersson played against men last year. It's insulting they are even playing in this waste of a tournament. I would have zero interest playing in it if I was them. As far as Andersson's skating, it is fine and much better already than Stepan. That based off what I saw in his NHL debut but I'm not a scout. I doubt there is any motivation for those 3 players to be in Traverse. Lindgren did nothing but impress in his brief time in the NHL. Same with Andersson and Chytil. Yet, we have fans here that constantly make up idiotic nonsense about them. Give the rest of us a break. You aren't scouts. I'm quite sure our scouts didn't draft a player 7th overall who can't skate.

what do you think, they are playing against only 18 yearold boys in this tournament? I think Andersson can skate, but for some reason he refuses to skate/hustle.

Nothing wrong with Lindgren. He’s ok. But prob not much more than a 5 6 guy. Rykov is a better prospect not a doubt in my mind.

His shot from the point is pretty bad, I'd like to see some improvement in training camp. Rykov is our 2nd best D prospect at this moment (of those who could make the NHL in the next 2 seasons).

Official box score from last night....

Gettinger from Stukel
Howden from Ronning and Leedahl
Meskanen from Chytil and Andersson
Lindgren from Lindqvist and Crawley

FWIW, Stukel is quietly above PPG in the tourney

Rangers need to learn to let go of poor prospects like O'Gara and must get more determination to bringing over KHL prospects ASAP like Shestyorkin, Rykov, Jensen, Kravtsov.

Jed Ortmeyer told the Minnesota broadcasters that Howden is Toews type of player. Howden has looked good so far. Ortmeyer is assisting McCambridge on the bench during the tournament. Hajek was looked good too. The Rangers D is terrible. Maybe Hajek makes the team out of camp but sending him to the AHL is probably the best path for at least the first half of the season. Bob McKenzie had first round grades on both players in the 2016 draft. #24 for Howden and #26 for Hajek.

You have a point, however the list of overagers who lit up juniors and ended up ECHL-AHL tweeners is long.

There's a reason why after a 60 goal season he still didn't get voted into our top 10.
Big difference between it being a fluke (or whatever the wording was) and him not converting it into NHL success.

Don’t know why you keep bringing this up. It’s the complete opposite

Why do you keep saying he cannot skate, he did show he can skate, but 90% of the time he just chooses to slowly glide. maybe that is his style to create out of himself easier target to receive a pass.
