So to recap....

This is beyond embarrassing.

Only to posters here, who are so glad to have Rangers hockey back again,
we dont want to accept that this is meaningless prep for training camp.

If NYR cared about results, they'd get the kids together for more than one single skate within 24 hours of travel

This is no more important than pregame skate...
it's to get the kids in better hockey shape for big-boy camp

The Rangers didn't dress their 4 best players today--Chytil, Andersson, Howden and Hajek.

Some thoughts about the tournament---it seemed like we took a disproportionate number of penalties throughout and that we were constantly being whistled offside in every single game. Our penalty kill was bad. Our goaltending was not good either particularly Nell.

yeah goaltending and overall "playing as a team" hampered them pretty much. I don't know how much to blame the coaching staff and how much is just kind of the luck of a short tournament and some teams come together better than others. Even if the coaches are good coaches maybe they just don't have time to bring things together the way they'd like

Then why bother sending a team to a tournament?

I don't know how this is anything but a complete embarrassment to the organization. Every single excuse you guys are putting out there applies to every single team that plays in it. We played like trash for most of this tournament. BUt we had enough talent to be at least a middle of the road team instead of the punching bag of the tournament. This was really really bad guys.

Only people that finish dead last talk like this. Of course This meant something to these kids. They were awful and it sucks. Call it what it is

I stand by my view. The team doesn't do anything to prep them to succeed.
Hockey is a team game, this ain't the NBA.
They weren't prepared to win. Never are

I shrug because it ultimately doesn't mean anything for the development or future of these players.

As for their performance...again I guess I'd put more blame on the coaching staff but I'm not sure if they're bad, or just not good at throwing together a team quickly, or the players just didn't mesh well in limited time.

It's pretty hard to win in a tournament like this even if the overall level of comp isn't great if you don't play like a team together and it was really evident that the rangers weren't playing well as a team

Eh not really.

They won a game, pretty much controlled another and lost because they couldn't kill a penalty.

The last 2 weren't good, but in the grand scheme of things it doesn't matter.

Disagree...thought they looked mediocre all tournament long...even the game they won I felt like they were underwhelming.

Again, this tournament is a waste of time. The pre-season starts in 6 days. The best prospects don't give a crap about this tournament. They probably just wanted to stay healthy. For many of these kids that will play in the AHL vs. men for the first time I'm sure their mind is not on this dumb tournament.
