Whoever it was that said Dano would be the guy to make the team over Wennberg and Rychel may have been on to something. Excited about this kid

How did he do today? Has he been in Columbus training this entire time? I know he was the first one in town to train for the prospect camp, but don't know if he stayed after.

Scored the last goal of the game tonight, now has 3 goals and an assist in the first 2 games. He looks ready physically, and has played amongst men already (KHL/AHL).

Milano out 8 weeks? Damn.

And can someone put up a box score or let us know the scoring / stats?

Tough break for Milano ... did anyone see the hit? How bad was it?

it was behind the play...we thought he took a stick to the face and went down...didn't see him hit the boards or anything, just that refs wouldn't stop the play while he was down and the large pool of blood on the ice after...

also...hell of a game down 2-0 and to come back...

also...very unclassy by DET to not shake hands...cbjprospects said its the first game in the years he's been coming that there hasn't been a handshake....

anderson played the guy more than the puck, for a 2 goal game, i was disappointed in him
soberg and moutrey were beasts
the two Dansk goals were iffy...but he really settled down after them
frk is a beast...still wish we drafted him
echl refs are awful...apparently anderson's stick broke all on its own and not from a slash
quennville's vision and feel are incredible
dipaulo is a beast....not very good but he answered the bell and threw a beatdown

we apparently clinched 1st in our division already...

Did you watch, Fro? I've read the 2 1st period goals weren't Dansk's fault and that he really kept the team in the game even in the 1st period.

i am up here, but heading home today...the first one was a slapper from the point and it bounced 5 hole, one he should have had...may have been tipped, but i am not fully sure...but his view wasn't blocked...second was off a rebound he should have (IMO) covered up...

he really settled down after that though and played really well....

I was really surprised by Dano's skill when I saw him at the development camp tournament, but I am not surprised he is playing well. He has played at a higher level than most/all of our prospects. We are going to have to find room for Dano, Rychel, and Wennberg in the next year or two.

Agreed RD....he played well, lost his composure early in last night's game, det really got under his skin in the first, but after that he was everywhere and finishing checks hard...excited about the three picks and their play

I'm curious to hear more, especially what was going with Anderson? Was he overphysical? I'm not sure what you mean.

He'd go for the hit, not the puck, so he'd check a player, puck would squirt free, a DET player would get it and have a scoring chance...more often than not if he went for the puck, either we'd have a rush the other way, or clear the zone, or hold the puck in. Hopefully that makes more sense, on my phone driving back, so hard to write it out

interesting....I think you are the only one disappointed with Anderson....seems Bednar likes what he is seeing from everything we are reading...and the game winner yesterday? think you might need to re-evaluate your standards

And a quote from Bednar

“We were standing still, not competing as hard as we should be,†Bednar said. “(We needed) way more energy, get more physical and control what we can control which is our work ethic and our effort.

Don't think he is talking about stick checking here

It's in Anderson's game to play that way; really it's what makes him an effective player. Think of him less as a potential top-6 guy, more as a Blake Comeau type. If he's out banging bodies and can score anywhere from 10-20 goals for us in the future, then he has become exactly what he was supposed to be.

Thanks for the updates, Fro ... good stuff.

Makes sense, thanks.
