I still think the most likely guy to get an AHL deal out of this is McBride. They had him in Hartford last year, they've been bringing him around this year, etc. Some other guy could put on a show and win a deal, but I feel like McBride has an inside track.

The Fox Sports Go app had the games last year with their bad camera angle so far away. The listings on the app go until September 2. They will probably have them on again this year.

Thanks guys -

I play in an adult league at the Ice House in Hackensack and they have a Live/VOD camera system called "LiveBarn". I have an account to review our games.

So I ran a search for Traverse City and the two rinks where they are holding the tournament popped up. It currently says "coming soon" - so I contacted the rink manager at Center Ice Arena and he said they will be up and running at the END of September. Ill keep checking back to see if they get installed earlier.

The VOD system is pretty good quality and you can zoom in, rewind, fast forward, etc. It is a paid service (15$ a month), but you might be able to get away with a free trial week next year (or this year if we are lucky) for the tournament

Our goaltending and defense look A+
Our forwards, only 5 skaters are actual prospects? No Riley Hughes? Tons of camp invites. What am I missing here? What the heck?

College players basically never come for these prospect tournaments in September.

They better win the tournament in a commanding fashion

every year fans project more importance on the results here, than the team or coaches do

this is what TC is:
it's a series of 4 semi-serious scrimmages in 5 days, to better prep young or inexperienced players for imminent pro training camp.

If there is a "will to win", it will likely have to come from the players themselves,
which would actually be kinda cool,
if Kakko and Krav stood in the middle of the room,
stared down the deep D, and the Gs, and the ragtag dozen other F's,
and said "damn it, we're here anyway, let's win the damn thing"
(in Russian, Finnish and broken English)

I find it hysterical that every year we hype up a prospects tourney in Michigan. 6 pages into the thread and the first game is still a week and a half away. Never change HF.

Yeah Hockey’s FUTURE! Never change from being a collection of people irrationally devoted to the future of the NHL! Keep getting excited for a preseason tournament featuring many of the game’s top prospects after a long, hot, boring summer! You dummies!

Not sure I'd call Maser a goon to be honest. 4 fights each in the last two years. Not a shrinking violet for sure but not exactly fighting every game either.

I meant goon in the sense of unnecessary PIM's. 151 penalty minutes in 2.5 seasons in Prince George for a span of 155 games? That's almost a penalty a game!! That's a lot for someone to get an invite. He'll show grit, but I'm not expecting much from him....

I feel the same, unfortunately. Kid played for AIC which is in the Springfield area. Hartford is about a 20-30 minute drive from Springfield. There are definitely ties there....

Looking at his size and numbers--I get the idea that here's a guy that likes to crash the net and whatever offense he's put up is mostly from being around the crease. 30 goals and 12 assists and 69 penalty minutes just strikes me that way. He goes to the net and he's banging and bumping over territory and every once in a while someone gets really pissed. The reason he got invited might just come down to--just in case someone starts messing with Kakko, Kravtsov and Fox--he's the guy. Any of the invites though are going to have to be awfully impressive for me to think that we should give them an NHL contract and I'm not expecting that from any of them. Maybe Salinitri or Landry get AHL deals---though if they do I suspect they'll spend most of this year in the ECHL. Same with Maser if he were to get a deal.

I seem to remember watching it on the fox sports app on Roku.

College players lose their eligibility--and no doubt their scholarships--if they play in one of these tournaments.

I believe the relevant rule is that an NCAA player may not miss any classes at school in order to attend an NHL program. This is why players who take summer classes skip NHL Development Camp in July. This is on top of the "pay your own way" rule which requires NCAA players to cover their own transportation, hotel, and food for the duration of the event (there is a partial exemption that permits NHL teams to pay the first 48 hours of hotel and food for first-time attendees).

NCAA is so far behind the times. There's the pay thing which I won't get into. The situation with being able consult with agents. Playing in events sanctioned by the professional leagues. It's absurd. For some of these kids, these events are huge for their futures. Let the teams pay for it. You're still an amateur; you're just an amateur being evaluated on professional readiness.

We have 57 LD prospects in the system and 6 forwards of which one is in college. This is not strange... ;)

This is exactly what I want to see. Idgaf how this tournament is seen. Our youngsters need to show they mean business.
