Hasn’t it always been the Hartford coach? Or am i wrong?I don't think it's been stated. If it has, I haven't seen it, either!

Seems logical. It would either be the AHL coach or NHL assistants, right? I'm sure someone will have the full historical rundown soon enough.Hasn’t it always been the Hartford coach? Or am i wrong?
really interested in some of the tryouts : Josh Maser, Anthony Salinitri for the most part
I'm just saying, the first two CHL games are days before TCT starts. Is it not possible for him to play the first two games, then come over for TCT? That way he would only miss two CHL games (assuming he was slated to play in them to begin with).
I don't know if the Rangers would want him to do that, or if Frolunda would be interested, either. Just from a logistical standpoint, it's totally doable.
While I do fly across the Atlantic regularly, it's not to play any sports so that makes it a bit easier. Henriksson being invited is a great sign of what they see in the kid. I'm a bit surprised Frölunda agreed to it
Sorry if this has been asked and answered already. Who's coaching the team? Knoblauch?
Samuel Fagemo is going to play the first two CHL games and then travel to Los Angeles rookie camp, Henriksson is probably doing the same thing.I'm just saying, the first two CHL games are days before TCT starts. Don’t get your hopes up
It was a long time ago I saw the conditions for going, but I think it’s solely based on pro experience in NA IIRC.
I remember one year we had a real crap team and they wanted to bring some younger AHL guys. Someone from our management accounted for the eligibility rules and how they tried to get exceptions for a few of the AHL guys but they said that it was up to Traverse and that they where pretty strict about it.
Will Traverse be televised/streamed?
If there was ever a year for MSG to get back on that horse, my God.
Firstly, welcome to HF!! Be prepared for a lot of trolls and debates!!
Secondly, Maser is a goon so we're bound to see some grit out of him. Definitely intrigued by Salinitri, as well!!
Panarin didn't play for Chicago at a preseason prospect tournament, and he was 23 and had zero NHL experience. Of course, it was FA signing, so he wasn't probably considered a prospect, but not sure about this.
It’s a short tournament where there’s not a lot of practice before hand where a lot of them have never even met each other, let alone play together, and it’s the first hockey a lot of these guys are going to be playing since the end of last season. Like, the Canes had Svechnikov and Necas last year and I don’t remember them dominating like some seem to expect Kakko and Kravtsov toI mean that has to be because we seem to not give a damn about this tournament? But our roster is massive and I hope they show they're future rivals who's boss.
Yeah I do like our defense though...in theory that's the best defense we've ever had at this tournament with 2 of the best forwards we've ever had here and the best goalie we've ever had here...outside of our top line tho the forwards are pretty weak. It’s a short tournament where there’s not a lot of practice before hand where a lot of them have never even met each other, let alone play together, and it’s the first hockey a lot of these guys are going to be playing since the end of last season. Usually the Rangers split their games as far as the goaltenders--so Huska playing well will be important if the Rangers are going to win the tournament. I'm kind of not worrying about Igor. Both Igor and he should have great support from the D--IMO Fox, Robertson, Reunanen, Rykov are all excellent to outstanding prospects. That is just a solid top 4. Joey Keane is a really good prospect too--he was a late cut from training camp last year and would easily fit probablyt into most teams top 4 in this tourament and maybe some team's top pairing. I like Nico Gross and Hunter Skinner apparently was very good in development camp. So that's 7 solid D.
The forward group with Kakko and Kravtsov have two potential superstars--Henriksson is a nice add. The first two should run roughshod over the competition. As far as the rest--there's not a lot of known depth. Hopefully Elmer and Newell show up well though and I have for Nick Jones. Maser might be interesting. The Rangers can always use a little extra size and grit.
We'll see, Maser's not really a big scrapper. He'll throw down on occasion, but not that regularly. More like Ryan Lindgren. The only other guy they really have that I can think of is Crawley. He'll fight whoever, but he's not even a heavyweight.I think Maser gets signed at least to an AHL deal, Rangers need bodies to protect the kids especially in Hartford as well as NYR. i rather mold the next 4th line type as an UDFA, than sign some veteran in his late 20's as an AHL plug without any chance of an NHL future
I don’t disagree with any of that, and I wouldn’t be surprised if they really did dominate, but this is reeeeally a tournament where ‘on paper’ is just ‘on paper’Yeah I do like our defense though...in theory that's the best defense we've ever had at this tournament with 2 of the best forwards we've ever had here and the best goalie we've ever had here...outside of our top line tho the forwards are pretty weak.
