So on the 6th goal: Dmowski from a ridiculous pass by Kravtsov should have been Fox’s 5th point. He has the secondary assist not Robertson.

He then assists on the empty netter for what should be his 6th point of the game. Jesus.

As I mentioned earlier the other mistake was missing Joey Keane’s primary assist on Robertson’s goal

So I mean what else is there to say? An absolutely absurd game by Adam Fox with 6 friggen points on 7 goals? Ridiculous. This is supposed to be harder than college hockey Adam. But his skating has improved a ton and he may be taking his game to another level already. Tony better get his ass to camp on time cause this kid Fox is not messing around.

I don’t know what happened Friday I didn’t see the game but it sounds like our goaltending was awful and the team may have come out flat and it got away from them quickly. This one was messy but they played well for the most part.

I’d like to see Kravtsov a bit more engaged (saying that after a 3 point night of course) but getting to the tough areas will only get tougher as the NHL games start so he needs to work on that.

Cannot even wait to see Kakko join this group. Along with Reunanen. Disappointed he didn’t play.

I like Elmer and Jones too. Remind me both of AHL version Lettieri. Hopefully if they do get any nhl games at all they prove to not be completely brain dead when putting on a Rangers sweater vs a Hartford one ala Vinny.

Robertson=Stud

Hoping Rykov is ok but could see him sitting today.

Huska was solid calm and most importantly made the clean saves he had to make.

Elmer looks extremely like Letteri on the ice. Outside of Fox, they have been there most noticable in person. I would not be shocked if either gets NHL time this year. Both seem to play a complete game.

TCT is FAR from as difficult as NCAA.

just from everything ive read about the game on friday, goaltending wasnt the issue he was left out to dry countless times....i get that your all in on huska and think igor cant stop a beach ball, which is mind boggling to me, but he wasnt awful

The production from Fox was obviously great but I was most impressed by how the game on the ice was played as what ever pace he chose to play it at.

I don’t expect him to step into the NHL and do that, but if he can even do that to a fractions equivalence at the NHL level we’re goin sizzler.

Completely agree. Some places have weird angles that already offer an awkward limited view (Florida I think) and then the camera crew is zoom happy on top of it and it’s just an annoying, motion sickness inducing experience. You should’t have to move the camera much or at all for a pass from behind the net to the crease...
A lot of camera placement has to do with home and away feeds... there’s also the Canadian way of covering a game (catering to knowledgeable viewers real or perceived) and the USA optics of trying to constantly “sell” the game as much as possible... the theory there is that hockey is a fast and hard hitting sport but that doesn’t necessarily translate from high wide angles.

A lot of USA directors tend to either over cut the broadcast or (much worse) are late on their cuts.

My personal preference is Canadian TV but I understand what the MSG & NBC etc folks are “trying” it’s just that they seldom pull it off.

Examples are the glowing puck and high behind the net angle on the PP... an angle Canadians use for replay not during the game.

When did I ever say that? Like ever.

He’s admittedly struggled since development camp he’s getting beat clean. Let’s call a spade a spade. He’ll improve and I’m not worried about it but right now he’s not playing well.

On ncaa hockey vs traverse city? There’s no way the teams Harvard plays are better than guys in this tourney. These are all drafted guys or guys signed by nhl clubs or guys from the AHL or euro pro hockey or guys who have already played NHL games where the ncaa is littered with guys that will never even play a pro game. Let alone anything close to this level. The structure isn’t there yet of course but the skill, speed and overall talent level of the players is significantly better

That, to me, was the biggest takeaway, his ability to take what the situation gives him. He can make space for himself and get himself open. And the puck handling under pressure in his own end to get it out of trouble and keep the breakout going.

Big differences in speed and quickness.

Sorry, I should of specified.

Obviously the players are comparable (though not above and beyond the NCAA skill level as you maintain), but the lack of structure in TCT makes it more like pond hockey than an organized team game.

Highly skilled guys like Fox and man-children like Vesey should have the greatest opportunity to put up ridiculous numbers.

Okay, Kakko is likely a go?

Definitely worth sneaking some work streaming then.
