Back from my brothers wedding haven’t seen any of the action yet but thanks to @GeorgeKaplan ill watch Saturday’s game tomorrow morning.

Sounds like fox with 6 pts is flat out dominating.

Shesterkin continuing to struggle is fiiiine. He’s got a year to figure it out. We shouldn’t even worry about him till next summer. Up to him to prove he’s better than Georgiev (I continue to believe he may not be)

Kravtsov doing what he does. Just a slick playmaker

You all know I’ve always liked Huska we’ll see on him

Have a feeling kakko is going to stick with that ugly 45. All the other kids have picked jersey numbers that make sense. Fox has changed like 3 times already. If he were going to change it he would have by now is my guess. It’s hideous but will grow on all of us I’m sure. Kids just don’t like classic numbers anymore. Look at Hughes with that ridiculous 86

I think that that there is an inherent tension in how you broadcast a game that is bound to leave hockey fans dissatisfied. Producers strive to strike the right balance.

Zoomed out lets you see the entire ice surface. Like most hardcore fans, half of me is always trying to see what is going on away from the puck. Zoomed out lets you see the flow of the game.

Zoomed in lets you better see the speed, physicality, emotion, and skill of the game. Certainly, in person it is a different game up close than sitting in further away seats. I’ve been to games in the lowest of the minor leagues where up close, I was blown away by players’ speed and skating. Zoomed in tries to capture that.

The most interesting broadcast I’ve ever seen, it must have been 10-15 years ago, I think in a college game, was where they had cameras on tracks on top of the glass. As players moved down the ice, the cameras moved with them. It gave you a real sense of being in the game, even better than moveable cameras suspended above the ice.

But every telecast tries to strike that right balance. Sometimes it works, often it doesn’t.

Yup. Ideally, the viewer would have a choice between which angle to use. I think eventually we will get to the point where you can switch between different camera angles. I believe NHL.tv already has this option for certain games or arenas.

Personally, I'd love to have a wide angle, zoomed out view where I can see the entire surface at all times but that would definitely be off-putting for more casual fans.

Robertson IMO was a particularly good get as IMO he was a borderline 1st round player and not someone who should have dropped as far as he did.
I think he’s a 1st round talent. Mid to late. I believe in his offense and he’s got the tools to be a 1st rounder.

Huska played, not Shest.

All teams in the Ted Lindsey division after 2 games: Columbus (1 win, 1 OT win), Dallas and Rangers (1 W, 1 L), Wild (1 L, 1 OTL). Gotta beat the Wild tonight!

Yeah he is a hard one with the situation in Frolunda. I saw one game where Frölunda had a solid roster and Henriksson and Raymond played as well as another kid — all good players. And I checked who was out, it was like 8 big name forwards. They have ridiculous depth.
It seems like a loan to an Allsvenskan team could be a good option. But at the other hand — why haven’t that loaned been made already? Season is about to start right now.
I'd say it's connected to the changes Allsvenskan made a couple of seasons ago. Each team can at maximum have two skaters + one goalie on loan from SHL teams during the season, this make the Allsvenskan teams a bit more restrictive in what players they loan from SHL, only one team has used both their skater loans this far. Loans usually are for the whole season now (it could be just a couple of games or even one game before the change), the player can travel between the two teams at any time though. But since he's one of Frölunda's first callups it might be problematic if we get a couple of injuries and want him back as the team in Allsvenskan will have burned one of their loans.

We should decimate the wild imo and i have to think shesterkin is gonna get the start so theyll see if maybe it was just a bad game friday. The funny thing is our team doesnt have its most lethal weapon yet and if kakko does play today im calling a like 8-2 score... i just feel it!

Based on what? Even in the NHL any team can come out on top on any given night. For a preseason prospects tournament it really is impossible to call it other than a 50-50 gambler chance.

Yea, we have to win out and CBJ has to lose their next two. If we tie CBJ they go forward.
Each team only has one game remaining on the schedule. However, I didn’t realize the tournament was using a 3-2-1 points system, so we actually advance to the championship as long as we win and CBJ loses in regulation today.

The Kakko return prophecy still might happen!

The implications are just huge!

You're crazy like a Fox!

Watching @GeorgeKaplan stream right now. Thanks again this is so appreciated.

Fox is really talented. His skating looks better too.

I absolutely love Rykov. Any prospect evaluator that tells you he’s not an elite skater is an idiot. His edgework is some of the best in the organization period. Just a really underrated prospect imo.

Matthew Robertson continues to show me he’s a first round talent. I’m not sure how he dropped that far. Dumb.

That Rykov goal off the Kravtsov rebound was just brilliant. Kravtsov is not trying to score on that’s shot it’s clear as day to me he’s purposely firing that wrister towards the goalies far side to create a rebound. He’s just really that smart and skilled.

And Henriksson so far looks like a great complimentary center. Makes the guys around him look better quietly. He’ll play in the league would be surprised if he doesn’t one day.

Wait till you get to the 2nd Kravstov assist

Great game by Fox. Here are highlights in HD from game 2 vs Dallas. Don't know if this was posted or not, but this is courteously of NHL.com. Ok maybe not HD but decent. Also interviews of Fox, Kravtov and others. Couldn't play it in my Edge browser, but works fine in IE. Cut and paste, enjoy.

I am thrilled with The improvement in fox’s skating. He clearly worked to improve it and it’s showing he looks a lot like DeAngelo in this game. He’s got a goal and 2 assists so far in a 3-3 game and probably should have had 2 more assists with plays he’s set up for wide open looks.

I can’t believe we’re going to trot out Trouba DeAngelo Fox on our right side. Wow!

Joey Keane robbed of a primary assist on that Robertson goal. Certainly wasn’t unassisted.

That’s something Tony D can’t do. Beat a goalie clean from the top of the circles with an open look. Great goal by Fox

Ya think Shesterkin will be in goal today? Would like to see him rebound off his poor effort.
