It's not the syllables, there are just certain sounds like Ray-oo... that Americans aren't really used to making. I unconsciously assume 'eu' makes an oo sound so people might have to fight that natural inclination while speaking it which probably leads to jumbling the pronunciation.

It's not the syllables, there are just certain sounds like Ray-oo... that Americans aren't really used to making. I unconsciously assume 'eu' makes an oo sound so people might have to fight that natural inclination while speaking it which probably leads to jumbling the pronunciation.

"nanen" following that makes it doubly difficult. It's a bit of a tongue twister.

I can see the argument of not giving him an assist on that OT winner (though the NHL would have given him one) but not getting an assist on the EN goal the other day was bizarre since he clearly made the pass up ice
