Wow, already making it easy to give TJ that contract they probably already promised him.

I doubt they promised him anything. Montgomery should not be satisfied with Lysell's performance in the first preseason game. He has to be substantially better than that to see the ice in the regular season, and Monty is giving him another chance tonight.

Isn't he on a line with stiffs tonight?

Play the kid regular season, ten games. See what happens. TJ was brought here to make the team at some point ala Heinen

Well there is not a lot of proven talent in the lineup tonight.

Lysell is playing with Merkulov, who he has a ton of experience playing with(and is offensively gifted) , and McLaughlin who is a solid AHL/NHL tweener guy. I expect he has experience playing with him as well. So this is probably about as comfortable a line as you could possibly put Lysell on. This is an excellent opportunity for him to thrive

Lysell is playing with Tufte and Nelson. The Bruins post was alphabetical not set up in lines. So the point is a bit stronger.

I hope McLaughlin plays well. He is a completely forgotten player who always acquitted himself well playing in the NHL.

He has shown nothing, at any point, that he deserves a 10 game tryout in the regular season. If he continues to play like he did Sunday he will be Providences captain this year. If he rebounds and becomes one of the 13 best forwards I am sure he will make the team. Let's see how the independent contractor plays tonight.

2 good years in AHL vs playing a game with a bunch of mids

With Marchand and Lindholm convalescing I use these lines (not all same game)

Zacha poitras pasta
Merk coyle brazeau
Freddy Geekie Lysell

Also would give some time putting Lysell on line 1 w Poitras and Zacha

Regular season I go Lysell on Marchand and coylea right. Poitras between Freddy and Geekie.

Lysell is not 100% and it shows.

He'll get well and be fine. That concussion he suffered last year probably has him not where he'd like to be. But he'll get there. It's unfortunate he's gotten hurt 2 years in a row. But when he's healthy he's an asset. I'm not giving up on him yet.

I’m surprised he isn’t a fan favourite around here. He is a really well rounded player. He ate the leafs alive in the playoffs last year too. I think he actually has a high trade value.

I like Fredric a lot.

3 goals against Toronto. 2 assists vs Florida.

Looks like a Coyle clone for 3-4 games and vanishes for 15.

A strong complementary player and the sort that tends to sign inflated free agency contracts. Unless he chooses to stay at a fair value with the Bruins, it seems unlikely.

I for one am generally surprised at how little criticism he receives after the Debrusk hatred for his own inconsistency.

Don’t sleep on Michael DiPietro. I sat in back of him and he was quick as a cat, athletic, positioning was very good

He must have looked much better in person :naughty: Maybe he was doing things so quickly the camera couldn't pick it up
Unfortunately for me my assessment he got a C grade was on the HF text group mega thread

But I gave him a C on performance but liked his speed and he looked solidly built

Kuntar got an A
Lourhi an A

I said he looked solid as in build - he didn’t look tiny

He filled out

His skating is high end

I would still put him behind Poitras on the young asset list but he’s getting there

Solid game tonight from Lysell. Had several shifts where he was a puck hound and went right after it - winning battles, drawing penalties, using teammates, making plays. Took a couple of hard hits but I did see him peel away from some contact - which I'm not upset at seeing from a player like him. I'd rather see someone as slight as him avoid contact when he can as long as he's making the play. He'll figure out what he can and can't get away with once he's off the rookie starting blocks.

Lysell has a nasty wrist shot. He was good in the first two periods. I got distracted before the third started so I can’t speak to the third.

Considering he's gotten 2 concussions, 1 last from a cheap shot, I can see why he'd shy away from some hits. He's still working his way back. He's silky smooth. Great hands. I hope he pushes for a spot.

so that settles it. You both agree he should avoid contact if possible.
