It's Preseason let's take a breather. Now after the first week of this then okay I'd start to panic. But encouraging Vilardi is looking really good. But just a warning this maybe a norm get use to the suckage.
i agree but man, you see these bright spots in the players fighting for roster spots, clearly been busting their asses all offseason.. then here come the vets coasting in having a grand ole time instead of setting a tone or an example.. it's just frustrating to see year after year

Why do we pretend that the preseason is completely unimportant after recently kings bombed in preseason and continued to bomb in the regular.

The vets haven't shown up at all for the most part. Be realistic.

Cause it isn't especially for vets

Why would the vets do otherwise?

Pre-season for the veterans is about getting warmed up and prepped. Going through your routine and getting cycled up for the season.

Going hard in scrimmages when you have a long 82 game season in front of you would be completely stupid. Injury risk.

It's different if you're a young player trying to establish yourself.

2-3 record in the preseason against Ari, SJ and the Ducks. Doesn’t scream “improvement”. I’m feeling good about my prediction that the first win this year comes when we play Buffalo on Halloween.

With you 100%. It is frustrating as hell. But hopefully it's just preseason and it'll get better. But as I mention I wouldn't be one bit surprised if this is going to be the norm. Hate to be pessimistic but i just don't see us remotely close to a playoff team. Hoping I'm wrong.

I'm just trying to be optimistic at the same time be pessimistic. Lol.

The mantra of Kings fans who do keg stands with the koolaid

We won the draft
We added talent in the offseason
We have vets due to bounce back
We have a competition going into camp
It’s just the preseason
Wait 20 games before judging the team
Wait till Thanksgiving before writing off the playoffs
Who can we move at the deadline?
What teenager should we obsess about until June?

Were all the wins without the veterans playing?
I had more fun watching when they werent playing thats for sure.
I dont wanna spend a dime on tickets to watch these guys coast through another season

Expect to be blown out by the Sabers, because that's what we do against them...lose 7-2 on a yearly basis.

Surely everyone moaning about some of us being upset realize that we're not upset by the final score of the game, right? Our veterans look like absolute shit and have zero chemistry. Guys like Doughty, Kopitar, Brown, and Kempe have been brutal all preseason. Danault has been pretty good defensively but I haven't seen much if any offense. Arvidsson has great attacking instincts but has found neither the back of the net nor chemistry with Kopitar. If we get a week or two into the season and the top power play isn't clicking and isn't changing, I'll be pretty pissed. Hopefully we'll see guys like Lizotte, Wagner, and Grundstrom waived over the course of the next few weeks (if not sooner).

Was the game. Been saying it all pre-season, the vets are horrible.

Blake should have gone Ottawa and not signed Danault or Edler, traded for Arvidsson.

The Kings are much more fun to watch with Turcotte, Byfield, Kayilev, and Kupari.

Also, just like Arizona, the Ducks were taking runs all night at Kings and chirping with Doughty. Lemeiux basically had to take a bad penalty in the 3rd to make a statement.

Old and soft.

So you think it's perfectly fine for the vets to completely drag ass and be the worst part of the pre season? Nothing to worry about right? Means nothing? Come on. Thats bullshit. I know some kids are trying to earn a spot but let's also stop pretending like the Kings vets and core don't have a massive f***ing habit of mailing it in and playing like shit. We've talked about the cancer in the locker room last year being potentially Carter but the Kings still got more tumors it seems. Preseason doesn't mean a thing but it gives you an idea of what's to come. And what's to come looks putrid from the old ass core vs the younger core.

Not you in specific but the mental gymnastics people do on here to excuse the vets nonstop is legitimately mind blowing when they haven't earned any kind of benefit of the doubt for like what? 5 years. Sheesh. They slack off more than DMV employees.

Todd McMoron’s in mid season form carrying the water for management.

Weren’t good early - Check
Hasn’t been an easy camp for veterans - LoL, so much for the most competitive camp ever
He says that Lias getting hurt HELPED THE TEAM??? Shit, hopefully Kaliyev gets a concussion and we win the cup
They’ve got one week of practice get the vets ready, what the hell was the point of camp?

This team is run by idiots.

So has the Village idiot around here stopped asking for Vilardi to be moved to the wing and then traded?

Who would have thought, give the young kid a bit of time to adjust and he turns into a star....
Perhaps i am having the village idiot on ignore but it was more worrysome that a few more wanted to trade him.

That was an insane thing to say and baffling. Lias got in on 2 aggressive forechecks and won the puck both times in battles...the first one was the same play Vilardi's
first goal. Lias has been better than any vet forward this year. And him getting injured, helped? How? So lackluster vets, trying to find their games, can get more
icetime? How is Lias supposed to feel, about such a fkkking stupidazzz thing to say?

I would actually consider firing him, just based on this....and I have not had any issues with him until that. Maybe if a puck hit Todd in the face on the bench and he had to leave the game, that would help this team.
