Dig that Byfield didn't get cute there and just asserted that he was going to shoot

nothing more annoying than a goalie stick knob

This camera guy is making me realize that there is a lot more skill to doing a national broadcast than I realized.

well this was fun, but I wouldn't say anyone in particular stood out in a good or bad way. Looked like a bunch of guys trying to get their legs back together. Really nice goal by Fagemo

So far, based on the rookie tournament, scrimmages and Black v White game, it’s safe to say Bill Ranfords goalie squad had the best offseason getting ready.

from the standpoint of the kids....I thought Kupari, Fagemo and Byfield were the most impressive. Seemed like Turcotte and Kaliyev didn't get a lot of ice time.

I’ve been saying Fagemo is close, but he’s even closer than I thought, if not ready. It was still just a scrimmage so it’s really going to be about the preseason games but I liked what I saw from a few players. I don’t think the guys that may get waived looked all that great and certainly appear to have been passed by several of the young guys on the depth chat. The role they want the bottom 3 to play will be key though. That’s why I have to think Lemieux is the one that has a spot, amongst the 14 forwards, to lose as he bring a level of grit no one else can. As he has literally zero competition for that role he’d have to have an awful preseason to miss out.

After that? No idea, I’ve stopped trying to work it out.

Kupari and Fagemo had the benefit of playing with veterans. Hard to take anything away from a practice game like this besides just having fun watching hockey.
Every player on the ice besides Pinelli could be on an NHL roster.

I thought Turcotte looked like the best of the bunch. He was flying all over making plays that his linemates weren't able to keep up with. Fagemo looked great but he was with Kopitar and Arvidsson, whereas Turcotte was the driver for his line. Kaliyev had a couple of GOOD Dwight King moments, where no one could take the puck from his big ass. Vilardi in particular looked lost orbiting around him a couple of times  But generally agree that the forward kids looked good, Byfield looked horrendous at first but got better as the game went along, which makes sense with him stepping out after the rookie camp.

Fagemo excelled in exactly the role he should be in really, complementary winger. Just drive around and dig pucks, go to the net hard, shoot. If you have to get Iafallo away from Kopitar for whatever reason, Fagemo would be a good sub.

It was also nice seeing Arvidsson mesh with Kopitar.

I'd love to see Vilardi play with Kopitar and Arvidsson. Liked Fagemo a lot in the top six as well.

Arvidsson - Kopitar - Vilardi
Kempe - Danault - Fagemo
Iafallo - Kupari - Brown
Andersson - Anderson-Dolan - Moore
