I think Fagemo deserves to make it. Todd called him a 'helluva player' today.

On Samuel Fagemo
I think Sammy gets lost in the talk, or the hype, about the early first-round picks and that type of stuff, but we haven’t forgotten about him, he’s a hell of a player. 18 months ago, he was one of the top scorers at the World Juniors tournament, and he does a lot of things well. Not only did he score tonight, but he checked well, he made smart plays with the puck in different areas. His game has grown, and he has an opportunity, he has a real good chance of staying if he continues it.

With Iafallo playing well with Danault, would be great to see ELMO (SamuEL FageMO) to get a shot...the same shot Iafallo got there some years ago.
I like the idea of Kopi having Fagemo and Arvidsson sniping all night.

I'm really pulling for one of: Fagemo or Turcotte to make it. Feeling atm Byfield, Kupari and Kaliyev a cut below those 2...for now.
Also feeling that Tkachev and AA should not have been signed. However, the Kings should be able to ice the best team in years.
That's what we all want...and only more talent getting close to the show.

Ontario should become a FORCE. Byfield, (if there) Kaliyev, Kupari, Madden, Thomas, Dudas, Moverare, Durzi, Spence, Grans...Brayden Burke, TJ Tynan.
Chromiak be top 5 scorer in OHL. Brandt Clarke? Eventually be back at it and Pinelli have a big year in the OHL as well.

I think he looked ok. I don't understand why they insist on putting him at C. I love the chemistry between him and Andersson but it's apparent when it's a fast skating game (lots of speed on the ice today) that having those two on one line is bad for their possession. Something like Moore-Vilardi-Kempe might be better for those nights.

I'd just love to see him on the wing. If he wasn't responsible for defensive center duties, he'd probably have a longer leash to create more offensively, which is where his strengths lie.

Too slow, always thought he didn't have the wheels to play centre and he's had ample time to improve his stride(skating)...can the Kings get 36 year old Carter back and we'll give them Vilardi

So the solution is to trade him for pennies rather than potentially sliding him to wing?

When Gabe was paired with a speedy possession winger he played well. Whether it was Moore earlier or AI at the end of the season. With Arvidsson, Iafallo and Moore on the team, TMc should always have one on Gabe's line.

When Vilardi was paired with Carter or AA or Wagner, it was a disaster because yes those guys are fast but they lose possession. Couldn't zone enter and actually hold onto the puck. Gabe has a plus shot and great vision. There's room for that skill set on any team, but you can't play him with linemates that don't compliment his plus attributes.

I might be in the wrong place. Want all the kids to go back to the AHL & tear it up. Not overly worried about the roster at the begging of the year. Let the vets grind it out & call the kids up at the end of the season.

Fagemo was my dark horse to make the team last year... Despite all of the other younger talent knocking on the door this year, I think it's his time.

Missed the game and just finished watching it on the tube. All I have to say is fire that damn cameraman. Same sh*t back in 2019 when I subscribed to AHLtv to watch Vilardi and the gang. Funny thing is that is their actual cameraman. LOL. Anyways, it's a split squad game so not even going to comment with impressions. Just glad we get to watch hockey again. I will say that the players who is projected to make this team is still lacking firepower. It will be another long season but optimistic with the young prospects.

Yeah, that was my biggest gripe. Honestly made me a little sick at times, my eyes were following the puck off camera on innocuous flow-of-the-game plays. Our AHL camera operator depth is really, really thin, though. Hope Blake and Yannetti can address that at the draft next summer!

I liked Spence's offensive game, but he got lost a lot tonight in the D zone. The most glaring is when Clague intercepted an outlet and Spence didn't realize Byfield was breaking in behind him. A year or two in the A is really going to help him clean that up, as fast as the guy seems to learn he's looking promising for now.

I thought Kempe looked really good tonight, had jump in his step and intensity. Along with the obvious Fagemo I think he had a great showing.

Yeah, this will be Spence's first year in the pros--I expect him to sponge even more from here on out. He definitely has the brain. Spending some quality time with O'D will be excellent for him bringing more structure into his D game and this org has a history of 'smaller' RHDs doing good things physically (Walker, Roy, even Voynov) using leverage instead of brute strength.

Kempe looks absolutely ready to roar out of the gates. Props to him, he's put the work in and looks focused. His question has always been consistency over the duration of a season--and not sure how that can be addressed, but I'm sure rooting for him to catch fire early and keep momentum going.

Kempe always looks sick against easy competition - he has filthy hands - everyone is talking about Madden's shootout goals but look at Kempe's over the past five seasons. He just can't crack that 40 point or 20 goal mark yet. I hope this changes.

To be honest, no one blew me away in the game except Fagemo.

If anything, the most impressive players were Kopitar and Doughty. Which is great, but... I'd love for someone else to really show out

also cap reasons beyond obvious reasons

I rewatched the game (because I’m starved for hockey), and I actually liked Vilardi’s shifts with the one exception being Kopitar’s pickpocket.

He attacked the middle of the ice and used his soft hands and size in combination to protect the puck well. Hopefully he keeps doing that.

Watched the game yesterday, it was fun. Can't wait for this season! What's the reason this year's first rounder Clark was MIA? I was really hoping to catch a glimpse of his game.

my 2 cents:

Moore Kupari Brown were NHL caliber ready. Really makes a difference when prospects are flanked by vets, good chem on that line.
Spence and Fagemo were impressive. Chromiak has decent speed.
Need to see Vilardi on the wing. He can't keep up with the pace, needs to drive play from the blue line in and work below the hash marks.

I would think Kupari, Fagemo and JAD have an inside track to make this roster over the other prospects.

QB, Turc, Kaliyev, Madden etc... they all need another year in the AHL to work on speed, conditioning, size etc.. Maybe with a call up later in the season.
