Tkachev is perfect for it because he's one of those guys that can zone enter and maintain possession. That's exactly the type of player that Gabe needs on his line.

So... I guess they meant it when they said they weren't going with the 1-3-1. The breakouts aren't perfect tonight but their misses aren't costing them and it's generating a ton of speed and opportunity. The Vilardi line is legit.

Glad that Lias is continuing his good play. When he got sent down to Ontario he played really well and then on his call-up to end the season he was paired with Gabe and kept it up.

Keep Dustin as far away from Villardi as possible.

Wagner gets waived almost assuredly as well, Tkachev just brings so much more to the lineup.

I know this is just one game but I’ve seen enough to make some observations: Anderson and Vilardi look great together. Sprinkle in some Tkachev..such a good playmaker and will immensely help the power play. Wagner needs to go. I would keep one of Lemieux or Grundstrom. Byfield over Kaliyev and Turcotte right now. Roy and Walker look like they belong. Bjornfot needs one more year. Waive Maatta. Will wait until the next game or two to make any more determinations.

oh for sure it carrys over. there was a blatant crosscheck in the middle of the ice, no call, then the Kings got called for a hold. so much for cracking down on crosschecking.
