I might get behind the idea of starting off slow and/or a disappointing season....if it meant a guarantee of TM being gone. Maybe.
I seriously have no interest in him being the coach of the rebuilt Kings once we (hopefully) turn the corner and start doing well / contending again.

I think he is our Terry Murray and we will have a Darryl Sutter in about 2 more seasons

"AND ANOTHER THING" are you f***ing kidding me here?

I speak for everyone when I say , we were all waiting for EDIT THREE: and we get "AND ANOTHER THING"

WTH man!?

Good things happen in threes: Three little pigs, Three bears, Three Stooges, Three French Hens, the girl with three breasts from Total Recall

I think by your account threes actually come in fives. If you add my contribution then threes come in sixes which is actually a multiple of three.

It’s sad to hear a guy like Terry Murray get lumped into any discussion related to Coach Todd. Even if you ignore that Murray’s Kings teams made the playoffs with a bunch of kids leading the way, his hockey career prior to LA was very accomplished.

At every level, he did more than MacClellan, who has made a highly paid career out of being a nobody until he was a passenger on the Detroit teams led Lidstrom, Datsyuk and Zetterberg. Todd’s qualifications for the Kings job came down to being available and having coached Rob Blake. That and the the spectre of Willy D were enough to scare the Kings into handing him $25M to do very little.

Trying to find the "right" coach and a "good" coach is beyond my comprehension. I mean how many people here though Darryl Sutter was the right guy for the job when he took over for TM? Let me answer that. Nearly zero. I know I was officially joining the axis of evil (negativity) following that hire. I remember prior to them hiring DS, I had pinned down that the Kings needed to be top 10 in both scoring and defense to have a shot at a Cup based on post 2005 lockout results. The Kings were top 10 (I think 2 or 3) defensively but as we all know they could not score. Darryl Sutter seemed to pull a rabbit out of a hat getting the team to score in the playoffs 2012 to 2014.

That's crazy, she reminds me of my mother.

I'm not going to crap on a coach when the team is largely being rebuilt around him. This year is the first we're really giving him major assets to play with so let's see what he does with it. Say what you want about TM but he had an amazing record in SJ and is still the only coach to get the Oilers a playoff series win since 2006. This year will be very telling on his time in LA but I know I was personally very pumped we hired him and I'll stand by that for now.

LA will rue the day they didn't draft the goal scoring sniping winger Dylan Guenther over another RD-man even if his name was Brandt Clarke

I really hope you are still around to say 'I told you so' when that day comes.

That's the issue with Maclellan. He's done nothing to establish any identity for the team.

Ima do just that.

TMac has done absolutely nothing for the Kings and the franchise since he's been here. We were losing with Terry Murray with a system in mind and a plan whether good or bad.

Maclellan has done nothing to warrant a long rope. Murray did more for the Kings when he became coach than Todd has done. It's a very big contrast. One had a plan and one is a smooth speaking panda who has shown no signs of any structure for the team.

With Terry Murray we knew the plan was shell defense and forecheck. Very blatantly obvious and that message was relayed to the fans.

What is Todd's plan? I watch all the games and I still have no idea what they're doing.

Second highest paid coach in the league, coming in just .25 million below Q. Kind of shocked that he's making a million more than Trotz.

As long as the Kings lose by 2 goals or less, I cover my bet. But getting outshot 17-3 and winning 38% of the draws, I can hear the toilet getting ready to flush.
