Oops. Jerabek yes. Garrison no.

So 26 with Garrison.

Jerabek looked much better today. I heard from someone in an interview (cant remember who) that some vet dmen look better later in the preseason because there is more structure in the game by that point.

I thought that was an interesting comment.

I liked Bears game but its too soon for him. I think the team has to decide between Garrison and Jerabek.
Bouchard gets a min of 9 games IMO.

The toughest call is on D.

The forwards present a decision too but that's more of a "who sucks the least?" kind of decision.

Err... I'm confused. Have the Oilers already flown out to Germany? If yes, that would have been straight after the game against Calgary. Broad daylight around midnight? Am I missing something?

Wouldnt they have been boarding in the late afternoon today? Those look like pics from EIA.

Do I read that correctly - Jerabek was left behind?

26 players - that is basically the entire training camp roster as of Sep 28th, plus the third goalie, minus Sekera and Jerabek, if I am not mistaken. That would mean that all 15 forwards are on the plane, including Aberg, who I kind of expected to be waived after the Calgary game.

Then again, Garrison and Chiasson have yet to be signed, which basically makes it only 24 contracted players on the plane.

I don't know who was actually on the plane.

Just that since there were no cuts announced, I'm assuming that whoever played in yesterday's game plus Chiasson/Garrison are still with the team.

So Jerabek is included in that list.

IIRC, I think Chiarelli said they were allowed to bend the rules and carry their PTOs and a non-roster goaltender to Europe until before the regular season game on the 6th. I would think they'll be at 23 + PTOs and Starrett. Won't be surprised if we hear someone like Aberg got cut yesterday and is waived today.

Aberg’s been waived. The right decision.

Jerabek has been ‘released’ apparently as well as per Oilers twitter. I believe ‘released’ in this case means that he’s been told that he will not be on the Oilers and has refused to go to the AHL, which would give the Oilers the right to terminate. Either that or they’re working to loan him somewhere across the pond. Again, the right decision. He was soundly outplayed by all of Garrison, Bouchard, and Bear.

So Garrison is going to get a contract. He's the 7D.

The only real spot battle left is 6D. Bear vs Bouchard. I bet they both play in Cologne and, unless Bouchard really struggles, he'll get the first chance in the NHL due to the fact that Bear can be called up and Bouchard can not.

Wouldn’t shock me if some basement team lacking depth claims aberg. I would agree Jerabek more then likely doesn’t want to play in the AHL, I thought it was a head scratcher when we signed him, as we have a plethora of 5-7 dmen, he wasn’t going to be a number 4 which we needed when Sekera went down. He’s probably going to wait and see if he gets claimed, I would be shocked if he passes and doesn’t report if assigned to the minors, as he will want the money still

So Garrison gets a contract as the 7th, I like it.

Ottawa should claim Aberg - no way they have 12 NHL forwards. Or some team like Pittsburgh that’s constantly making chicken salad out of chicken shit.

That tweet from the oilers is weird.

Jerabek “released” but awaiting assignment. What? Haha.

Won't be shocked if Aberg gets picked up, cheap salary but he looks to be a dime a dozen type player.

Capfriendly tweeted that Jerabek was not released.

Sounds like he'll need to clear waivers and then likely end up on a loan to Europe somewhere.

His whole cap hit can be buried, so not a big deal either way.
