Where is this coming from?

It was before Brodie signed. If the trade had happened I don’t think we sign Brodie.

Imagine revisiting this trade:

Dermott and Kerfoot/ Mik for Weegar?

who would your rather have for 2nd pairing? Weegar or Holl?

Hmmmmm

Where did Holl go?

Why is Colorado the favourite this year if it is so obvious that teams like Pittsburgh can never win the cup?

Colorado certainly looks to the best team to start the season but the odds today are based on what most people think. They will change once teams hit the ice. If I were betting I'd put my money on the 19-1 Islanders or 20-1 Panthers to win it all. No, I am not trolling.

If you have Brodie and Weegar on RHD, I move Holl and his cap and run with Liljegren as our 3rd pair RHD or put Liljegren with Muzzin.

$2million more available to resign Rielly.
Weegar makes more than Holl I think.
Agree would have been a nice upgrade to the second pair but I don't think you're saving money by doing that.

Saving money part comes in when you trade Kerfoot or Mik and Dermott to get Weegar, making Holl expendable as well, and adding $2 million more off the books.

Well, if you would be happy re-signing Rielly right now....then I don't understand the difference between doing that or using that caphit on someone else.

I believe if you put your mind to it, you probably could.

I can only think of this happening two times.

Kevin Shattenkirk & Rob Blake.

Rob Blake was 20+ years ago.

And the Blake deal was murky in that it was closer to a hockey trade (a massive one). Two first round picks were a smaller portion of the deal. Adam Deadmarsh was a 25 year old borderline top line forward, Miller a steady 4-5 d man.

Can't seem to do it.

Replacing Rielly at his $5m cap hit next year is easier said than done but if you can pull that off, it leaves you with 2.2m in cap space to sign resign Soup and Soupy without having to move anybody else. I'd tread carefully though.

What thread are people using to discuss tomorrow's final pre-season game?

Leafs twitter seems to be strongly hinting that Matthews will play.

Nah I'm more of a lurker. Don't really start threads.

But there should probably be one to talk about the last pre-season game specifically.

I kinda think Lilligren will probably want to play on an (any)! NHL team cause he's RFA next year so if they don't give him a shot his agent might just start asking for an opportunity somewhere else and all those years of development are out the window!

We made our final payment for the season today for 50% of the season. Still don't know what games we get though.
I split mine with a business partner so we each now get 25%. I'll be selling most of mine, just like to get on with it and recoup some money.

Sounds like they will be allowing full capacity to Leaf games.

I haven't been keeping up with the Leafs much lately. Who is our #1 goalie? Or is that up in the air right now? Or do you think they'll split the games pretty evenly?

I think given his play last year, Campbell will be considered the 1A and Mrazek the 1B. So, I would be surprised if it wasn't Campbell starting game #1 on Wednesday.

However, this could change within a week and there's a reason I call them 1A/1B.

The "back-up" should get nearly 35 games if there are no injuries.

I would truly enjoy if they used the most perfect tandem ever seen and literally alternated them every game without fail.
