I’m surprised he isn’t pushing harder but maybe that’s all he’s got
He's a 1-timer specialist and nobody can seem to get him the puck.
He really needs to get away from Dean and Ritchie. Let's see him on a line with some skill.

Okay but he’s talked a lot about rounding out his game, doing all the little things, and he’s just not noticeable.

I think Dean has been more consistent than Bolduc.
He's never going to be a Schenn or ROR out there.
But he's played a sound positional game defensively and won the majority of his board battles. He just hasn't been able to get that shot off.

Dean's been good defensively, but he just doesn't have good offensive instincts.

The two of them together is like playing Perron with Sobotka. You aren't doing either guy any favors.

Hot take: Hofer starts more than Binner this year. Kid looks ready.
I was chatting with a long-time goalie pal of mine after the first preseason game about this. Hofer will overtake Binnington by the All-Star Break next season. Perhaps even during the second half of this season.

He look deceptively huge in the net. Positionally sound. He's not going to be the most exciting Blues goalie in history, but I see a solid, consistent starter for a long time. I really like what I've seen from Hofer so far.

Seriously, I’m not sure Bolduc has lost a board battle all game. He’s been fantastic IMO.

I've been trying to catch up on work and keeping an eye on the game at the same time, but there's been multiple times Thomas has made a great play getting back to break up a Blackhawks rush.

The Springfield Thunderbirds have held the Chicago Blackhawks to 1 goal through regulation.
Either the T'Birds are going to be a powerhouse in the AHL this year; or it's going to be an extremely rough year for Chicago.

Weak D by Thomas and Perunovich on that goal.
weak D by Perunovich how?
he had Hall tied up and taken out of the play in front of the net
he did HIS job on that play
Hofer knocked the rebound sitting in front of him right to Kurashev and Thomas didn’t have him

Thought Bolduc was pretty meh in regulation, but he was downright dangerous in OT. I know a lot of folks on here are down on him but I really think he’s going to be a player after a year or two in the AHL working on his play away from the puck. It felt like he was focusing solely on that in regulation and it neutered the dynamic elements of his game. He seemed to find it again at 3-on-3.

Hall had inside position on Perunovich and Scotty was attempting to push him directly into Hofer.
That was not well played by Perunovich.

I think Perunovich looks good. He is very effective with his passing and movement in the offensive zone. Can extend sequences and create opportunities. He needs to be a regular in the lineup this year.
