NHL rosters are frozen until after the expansion draft on Wed night.

Here is one interesting tidbit that not everyone might know that is only available to the Kraken.

Beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, the Kraken will be allowed to interview unrestricted and restricted free agents ahead of the expansion draft. Teams are expected to publicize their protection lists on Sunday as well.

Seattle alone and been given legal tampering rights to talk to any and all UFA and RFA players about agreeing to sign them to a new contract prior to free agency season officially opening after the entry draft.

Leafs have major holes at forward with us being desperate to acquire quality top 6 left-wingers.

If we are losing McCann to keep Holl then we better be bringing in Schwartz or a similar type of top 6 left-winger.

Holl is not worth more than McCann in a trade, in fact a straight swap would have been fair for the Pens and Leafs

Dubas and many fans here are under the belief that Holl is a stud top 4 RHD who is not replaceable. He hasn't shown to be that type of player and has struggled heavily in both his NHL years second half and playoffs.

If the Leafs re-signed Bogosian to even the same money as Holl @ $2 mil per and played him in the top 4 beside Muzzin and promoted Liljegren to the 3rd hole and lost Holl would Leafs really be that much worse off ??

The reason Bogosian has said he is not resigning is he wants a bigger role than 3rd pairing with the Leafs.

Based on the expansion draft and players available what are the odds that Seattle is able to ice a team that is better than the Leafs next year?

Vegas has only been around 4 years and won 8 playoff rounds and advanced to the SCF already once. If that is also Seattle trajectory then the will blow by our Leafs.

Wow, I wouldn't touch that contract but fair play to them if they want to take it on

What is to say they couldn't take it on and then trade him?

Price @$10.5 mil for Jack Eichel @ $10 mil and Seattle could turn that into a #1C.

If Seattle said Carey Price for Mitch Marner should Toronto not consider that?

There are a lot of rich NHL teams with lots of free cap space.. Tuukka Rask in a UFA in fact no goalie under contract and Boston has $25 mil in free cap space.. If you add Price to play behind that perfection line would Boston become the Cup favouites?

I think the reason Seattle is considering it is because they might have options beyond just keeping him.

Besides Carey Price is a BC boy, and played for Tri-City Americans of the WHL, which is just outside Seattle, Washington and the reason Price likely waived his NMC is to possible move closer to home for him and back to his roots and he is really close with him Mom.

I wouldn't be surprised if Price is hoping the Kraken take him and if that is the case Seattle would be crazy not to consider it and all their options. Remember Vegas started our MA Fleury in net post expansion and found immediate stability in net and on ice success.

If they did nothing but select players to maximize their first season, they could build a pretty good team.

Knowing our luck, we do this and find out the hard way that this playoff was simply the remainder of the tank for Carey Price's career.

I think it happens.

I hope it happens.

I'm Team chaos.

The only really big contracts I think they should take are Price, and Tarasenko. Price for the marketability and I think for only 2 years, Tarasenko is worth the risk. Funny feeling they pick Subban as well since his ticket is only one year, his friendship with Price and that organization has made a conscious effort to hire lesser represented groups like minorities and women to work within the org.

Trading him is a possibility. Seattle could easily retain some salary to make the deal more attractive.

That's a long time to be retaining salary, you would want something pretty tasty on the backend to make it worthwhile

I wouldn't sink that kind of cash into a goaltender, some teams do but I couldn't stomach it

I wouldnt touch it. Price's stock is up now because he got hot at the right time for the playoff run, but he's been an average to below average goalie overall for the past 4 years.

Sign Driedger, claim Bishop, etc. They have options to shore up goaltending without taking any risk.

Absolutely not. Same goes for Buffalo and Eichel.

You'd absolutely love that, wouldn't you.
