He’s been awful ever since leaving Colorado. No surprise here.

Reaves + ______ for Saad 2m retained.

Whoever else we need to get rid of? Get rid of 2 contracts for 1. They eat the extra cap and we have an off chance he becomes better here than Domi lol

I was talking about Grubauer being completely awful since leaving Colorado.

I would definitely have interest in Saad if St. Louis is willing to retain 50% or if they agree to a contract termination.

Do whatever with Reaves, and see who emerges as the #8 between Myers/Hakanpaa, but fully expecting only minor depth adds similar to last year.

So who is interested in offering Saad a league minimum for the balance of the season?
He won't take it. He just walked away from 6m for some reason. I can't imagine he would take that. It's weird nobody worked out some alternative arrangement

All day any day. I'm guessing he'll get better offers than we can afford, but for anything under a million I would be all over that.
He will want 2m+ to prove himself. Then he is not at a loss this season and hopes to make 4.5m or better next

He didn’t walk away from 6M. Closer to 4.5.
His real dollars next year was supposed to be 3.6 and most of this season has already been paid out.

The actual difference between a $1mil contract, and a $2 mil contract is $389k for the balance of the season... relatively small amount. I think it's more important for him to find a spot where he can excel, and earn another decent contract next year. It's about opportunity, not salary maximization. I mean, we can offer him the spot beside Nylander and Tavares..... how much better can he do?

I would give it a shot then. Need to get rid of Reaves.

He played for Berube didn't he? I could see the Leafs having interest.

American guy though...I don't believe he's ever played in Canada.

I was thinking Tampa might make sense for him. Tampa's top of the line up is actually very good but their bottom 6 has let them down a lot, if he could bolster their bottom 6 on the cheap, big help for them.

I don't know, a few months beside Tavares and Nylander wouldn't be unattractive if you're looking to get your career restarted

Depends on what he wants, he's got his name on the Stanley Cup already, he could have just stayed in the AHL and made bank, so what is he after? Most guys who have the cup on their resume just want bank.

If it's a cup, Tampa is interesting, him joining the team and maybe Isaac Howard addition could really give them a top 9.

Adding Saad only works if you punt other players to make room. When healthy this team has a lot of wingers. I've given up hoping they'll finally move on from Reaves as well.
