Bold move from the AVS too On one hand, historically they've also had a sharp management group, so they can be given the benefit of the doubt. But also fair to question if giving up that player while you're obviously trying to be competitive with MacKinnon on that deal is the best decision.....
Don Waddell is the CBJ GM now. Tulsky took over the GM role in Carolina. I wanted him bad over the years to take over the Leafs role when it was clear Dubas was on the way out. He flubbed the Guentzel add but made it work eventually I guess.
It's definitely a bold move that will give them cap flexibility moving forward but... they are definitely weaker. Necas is solid but he's nowhere near as good as Rantanen.
