He was waived once, by Treliving. Good thing he wasn't claimed, and good thing we got him in 2020. Really helping us this year.

That is not a fact at all. That report was immediately refuted by Friedman, who noted that the veto never happened because Knies was a complete non-starter for both Shanahan and Dubas.

Yes. You may not think they have contributed enough, but they have contributed to the team this year. They have added 10 of the depth goals, for one.

Mcmann until last year didn't had biggest value than a guy like Steeves right now who's at best a 5th round pick value...

Multiple sources reported the aborted deal ( mean they had at least discussion including Knies and no a no starter like your said) and from dregger it was knies 2 1st pick and mrazek for fleury and hagel... And maybe at the end they took the decision that didn't deserve to trade knies but Dubas had discussion including Knies. You can bury your head in the sand, but that's still happen...

Robertson yeah they provide goal... Holmberg had 1 goal ( who was not actually an emp5y net goal all year) and he got a lot of time playing in top 6 with offensive player. Its pretty bad...

If leafs want to make a run in playoff, they need to upgrade their 3rd line because actually, its pretty weak

Drouin-Mac-Necas is gonna be one fast line. Feel bad for defenders having to defend that. Or do we see Necas flipped for Crosby next lol

Colorado clearly couldn’t agree on a number that worked for both sides and made a smart move instead of loosing him for nothing.

Carolina wouldn't give Guentzel 9-9.5 mil but are ok with giving Rantanen 14 mil? Is Rantanen really 4.5-5 mil better than Guentzel?

True but resigning Rantanen does mean they will win the Cup either.

Have to give props for people who got balls to make changes when it doesn’t favor their way.

And if exemple avs didn't past the 1st round in next 5 years and exemple Carolina winning a cup with Rantanen... We will talk of this trade like a terrible one, like the huberdeau+weagar vs tkakchuk trade... Having ball doesn't mean betrer decision

Didn't Panthers went to the Finals and then win the Cup the following year after they traded Huber, Weager plus picks for Tkachuk.
Panthers GM got balls and made that trade which seemed to be giving just a bit more to the Flames, but he won that trade hands down even if Huber continues to have 100pts season as Panthers went to TWO Finals winning one after that trade. Thats SEVEN playoffs series win in TWO years while our boys won ONE series in EIGHT years.
Also got to give credits to Tre for getting that trade done as Tkachuk pretty much stated trade me to Panthers or I will walk the following year. Quite amazing that under those circumstances, Tre still managed to get a 100pts winger, a top 2 puck moving Dman and a 1st rounder.

this is why we never win. Buncha pansies our front office is.

we best not give marner more than matthews that needs to be the line. But again this idiots didnt trade him when they could. All is forgiven if he figures it out in the playoffs though i get it.

This is also why if we can get something for morgan we should go for it. We dont do shit here just trim the edges.

If the Canes give Ranta $14 you can bet you're bottom dollar Money Mitch will want >$14m come July 1st.

I hope we're not the suckers giving it to him, unless he wins the conn Smyth and the cup for us or something else like that which ain't happening.

If we win a cup I'm good, I can die happy, I can go on with my life and never care if we ever win again. Give Knies $14m too for all I'll care at that point

You can give Colorado kudos for having the balls to trade Rantenen, but did they get better from this deal? Personally I don’t think they did. They gave up the best player in the deal. I don’t think Necas + Dury will be on the same teir as Rantenen.

Toronto would be in the same boat, different circumstances, because of the optics of changing it up, but doesn’t mean you’ll become better.

Just my opinion.
