Thanks. Capwages has an issue with the Cap percentages, I've noticed that before.
I believe it's because they update to show current cap hit percentage instead of showing their signing cap hit percentage.
This is so wrong
Marner is better offensively and defensively in every main game state. Rantanen is better at putting pucks into empty nets and getting drafted to a team that gets a lot of PPs.

Dekes for crying out loud, player discussion eith you is like participating in pole vault where there is no official height and the bar is held by human hands that slyly lower it for friends and raise it for others.

You are missing the fact he is a main contributor in the playoffs and has won it. Better playoff player, a winner. Not a flipper flipping pucks over the boards and a game 7 choke artist.

Hard to argue against his position.
This would be 3rd. year in a row over 100 points.

Over his contract he's:
9th. in NHL points
6th. in goals

Next year how much more will Kyle Connor be looking at?
Over his contract he's Top 15 player, Top 4 in even strength goals.
ULF you are not dealing with Dekes correctly. From 2020 on he has been over 100pt pace.

They've both been main contributors in the playoffs, and team accomplishments don't change player quality. But yes, I did miss one. He's also better at getting drafted to a team that's faced worse goaltending and easier situations to produce in the playoffs.

Some of you have been really big on bringing Crouse in over the last few years. He's having an absolutely horrendous season.

What a disaster that would have been.

Crouse would have been an interesting power forward option and still could be if you’re buying low, but he’s having a Nick Ritchie style washout this year. Probably makes him more available in the years to come.

I
Noah Cates is back to playing C and he’s been hot lately. His defensive metrics are still elite and he’s back to a half pt/gp. He’s immediately my first choice for a 3C.
I recall you were the first/earliest one to propose Lilijgren for Cates deal

Was a good call then and looks like could be better now

Wish we find a way to get him

This will never happen, just therapy, trades can happen between now and off-season lol.

I call it "screw all of you, I am done"

What being a leaf fan for X amount of years does to a person lol.

Leafs future seems very hard to predict.

I don't know if Ownership/Mangement has the balls to move on from near certainty of playoff team core and try to build a winner with multille core piece move out scenerios

Just extremely risk averse, wanting to avoid saying a bad move is done and taking fault/heat despite a near decade of playoff failure (assuming another R1 knockout this spring)

It would be the equivalent of doing the Carter/Richards shake up in Philly, it didn't work out but they weren't perennial playoff teams either.

Rantanen > Marner
Miller and Johnston is a mix of young/old top 2 centres, Frost also is some youth back there.
Ehlers would be the best LW we've had in a while.

The top 4 defense is just nasty.

I have Woll/Rielly to Vancouver because I figure that's one of the places Rielly would waive for and apparently Demko doesn't want to be in Vancouver either so Woll would free them up to move.

Dallas would have Matthews-Hintz-Seguin down the middle.

I say go even bigger and get both 2C and 3C and move JT to wing. Nelson and Pageau both 50 percent retained. You have to get rid of Kampf and Domi for salary reasons. Grab Murphy 50 retained and call it a Stanley cup winning team

Hall and Murphy from Chicago make too much sense. Hall has wanted to play here and likely re-signs. Brings some actual scoring depth.

Murphy has another year on the contract and slides in beautifully beside Rielly.

Hall doesn't make any sense. He's another one dimensional mid line winger and we have plenty of those. Even at 50% he's got a 3M cap hit, which is more than half of the cap space we have to spend on. Murphy would obviously be a good upgrade.

Agreed. Leafs will go after a C rather than a W. This also pushes Domi to the wing which, technically, bolsters winger depth

Let the record show I stayed level headed with that 3-0 start :silly:
I caught up on Silo, then watched periods 2 and 3.

My wife limits me to 12 curses per game, and I'd used them all up after 1.

So what is the cost for Mason Mc?

I'd do Cowan, Robertson (I know, I know), 1st., any center that doesn't have a NMC.
